23 Awards in Total

Highly Refined Design

LG Electronics (CEO Cho Joo-wan) once again proved its design competitiveness by winning a total of 23 awards—including two Gold, one Silver, and three Bronze awards—at the ‘IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards),’ one of the world’s most prestigious design competitions.

Notably, this year the company won awards not only for product design but also for designs embodying social value and sustainability. The ‘LG Comfort Kit,’ a set of assistive accessories that help everyone use LG Electronics home appliances with ease regardless of gender, age, or disability, was selected for a Gold award. The kit comprises a total of seven items, including: ▲‘Easy Handle,’ designed to let users with limited strength or fine hand movement open and close doors on washers, dryers, refrigerators, and more by hooking their arm over the handle; ▲‘Easy Ball,’ which allows the dials on washers and dryers to be operated not only with fingers but also with the palm; and ▲‘Easy Hanger,’ which lets users hang clothes on the Styler’s moving hanger even while seated in a wheelchair. The ‘LG Comfort Kit’ is characterized by a design that attaches to and detaches from existing products easily and blends in seamlessly. Its corners are rounded to enhance safety. The Easy Handle, Easy Ball, and Easy Hanger use recycled plastic, contributing to the establishment of a circular economy.

In addition, ▲the ‘LG CineBeam Qube’ projector, which vividly delivers a super-large screen of up to 120 inches at 4K UHD resolution, won a Silver award, while ▲the ‘LG Therma V R290 Monobloc,’ a high-efficiency heat pump heating and cooling system; ▲the ‘LG Whisen Dehumidifier,’ a powerful dehumidifier equipped with a dual inverter compressor; and ▲‘LG CLOi UX 2.0,’ a UX that enhances the accessibility of the LG CLOi ServeBot, received Bronze awards. Beyond these, LG Electronics received 17 Finalist awards for products and platforms including monitors, air conditioners, washers, dryers, humidifiers, speakers, Micro LED signage, webOS UX, LG ThinQ UX, and Sound UX.
