LG Hausys Wins 'Main Prize in the Product–Building Technology Category'
Highly Rated for Design Originality, Customer Convenience, Functionality and More
LG Hausys has won a Main Prize at the 'iF Design Award,' one of the world's three most prestigious design awards, for its indoor air quality management solution 'LG Z:IN Automatic Ventilation.'
In this regard, LG Hausys announced that 'LG Z:IN Automatic Ventilation,' a window-integrated indoor air quality management product, won the 'Main Prize in the Product–Building Technology Category' at the '2021 iF (International Forum) Design Award.'
The 'iF (International Forum) Design Award,' which was launched in 1953 under the auspices of Germany's International Forum, comprehensively evaluates design distinctiveness and influence across a total of nine categories, including product, packaging, communication, concept, interior, architecture, service design, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI).
'LG Z:IN Automatic Ventilation' earned high marks for its design originality—displaying various indoor air quality data on a front display—and for its customer convenience as a window-integrated product that is easy to install rather than being recessed, and it went on to win the Main Prize this time.
'LG Z:IN Automatic Ventilation' features an original design that uses a front display and LED lighting to show five indoor air quality-related readings—indoor carbon dioxide, temperature, humidity, ultrafine dust, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs)—allowing users to check them even from a distance.
In addition, unlike conventional recessed ventilation systems, the product can be easily installed as an integrated unit beside a window, making it easy to install even in residential spaces such as older homes without major construction work, thereby enhancing customer convenience.
On top of this, it secures outstanding functionality by automatically detecting indoor air quality to expel polluted indoor air outside and drawing in outdoor air through a triple filter to maintain a pleasant air quality, while also effectively reducing indoor carbon dioxide levels that cause headaches and dizziness.
LG Hausys plans to use this award as an opportunity to accelerate the expansion of 'LG Z:IN Automatic Ventilation' into the market. In fact, it is drawing considerable interest from consumers, with the number of order contracts in March increasing by about 80% compared to the previous month.
Cheon Ha-bong, executive director and head of LG Hausys' Design Center, said, "Following the Red Dot Design Award for our commercial flooring products in March, this iF Design Award win once again affirms LG Hausys' interior design capabilities in the global market," adding, "We will continue to introduce interior products equipped with innovative features and differentiated designs that can impress our customers."
Meanwhile, LG Hausys has to date won a total of 56 international design awards—including 34 iF Design Awards, 14 Red Dot Design Awards, and 8 IDEA Design Awards, which are counted among the world's three most prestigious design awards—earning recognition for its design capabilities around the world.
