Semi-noncombustible sheets, flame-retardant wallpaper, and interior films help strengthen fire safety
LG Hausys is continuously introducing fire-resistant materials that reduce fire damage—such as semi-noncombustible sheets, flame-retardant wallpaper, and flame-retardant-treated interior films—to enhance the fire safety of commercial spaces.
Semi-noncombustible materials refer to building materials equivalent to noncombustible materials that do not burn, or building materials that have the function of preventing the spread of fire, while flame-retardant materials refer to building materials that have been chemically treated to make them difficult to burn. As government fire safety standards for buildings have been strengthened in the wake of recent recurring fires, demand for fire-resistant materials has been steadily increasing.
Unlike ordinary wallpaper, which uses paper or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in its base layer, LG Hausys' semi-noncombustible sheet is a wall-finishing product that applies semi-noncombustible material. It does not spread easily even when ignited and emits a low amount of harmful substances in the event of a fire, earning it a semi-noncombustible performance certificate from the Korea Fire Institute (KFI).
With its excellent durability, it does not scratch or tear easily from external contact, making it suitable for commercial spaces used by many people, as well as for multi-use establishments—such as postpartum care centers, gosiwons (small studio boarding rooms), and rest restaurants—that are required to install noncombustible or semi-noncombustible interior finishing materials.
Its diverse designs, which could not be found in existing semi-noncombustible wall finishes such as fire-resistant paint or stone, also stand out. From the luxurious marble patterns of 'Bianco' and 'Onyx' to 'Fabric,' which recreates a fabric texture, a wide variety of patterns and colors make it possible to create diverse atmospheres tailored to the characteristics of each space.
LG Z:IN flame-retardant wallpaper is functional wallpaper that adds flame-retardant treatment and flame-retardant functionality to the surface of LG Z:IN's existing silk wallpaper. Meeting domestic fire safety standards, it can be used in various commercial buildings, and with its luxurious design, it can be selected to suit the desired space in commercial spaces where interior design is important, such as restaurants and hotels.
LG Z:IN interior film BENIF is likewise a product that has received flame-retardant approval from the Korea Fire Institute; it does not burn easily and suppresses smoke generation, keeping it safe even in the event of a fire. From solid colors to patterned products expressing various textures such as wood, metal, and leather, it offers options for creating trendy spaces.
An LG Hausys official said, "In line with the strengthening of fire safety regulations for interior buildings, interior fire-resistant materials that consider not only fire-spread prevention and enhanced safety but also durability and design are drawing attention," adding, "We will expand our supply to the commercial space market, including multi-use establishments where the use of fire-resistant materials is mandatory, and actively contribute to strengthening building fire safety." 080-005-4000
