LG Hausys is taking the lead in enhancing the eco-friendliness of children's activity spaces with its eco-friendly premium interior materials.
LG Hausys recently supplied interior materials—including flooring, wallpaper, and engineered stone—for the Carrie Kids Cafe that opened at the IFC Mall in Yeouido, presenting a space where parents and children can stay with peace of mind.
The products LG Hausys installed at the Carrie Kids Cafe include 'Zea Maru Real' and 'Zea Wallpaper Fresh,' whose skin-contact surfaces are made with corn-derived ingredients; 'EQ Floor,' a high-elasticity flooring that reduces walking impact; and 'HI-MACS,' an engineered stone that minimizes bacterial growth.
'Zea Maru Real' met the highest grade, SE0 (Super E0), in testing by the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL), with a formaldehyde emission level of 0.3 mg/L or less, while 'Zea Wallpaper Fresh' earned Class 1, the highest grade of the 'Oeko-Tex® Standard 100' European textile quality certification, proving it can be used safely by children under three years of age. In addition, 'EQ Floor' is 6 mm thick—about twice as thick as typical commercial flooring—giving it excellent performance in reducing everyday noise (light impact sound) and high floor impact safety, making it effective in preventing children's safety accidents. It is also eco-friendly, as it does not use phthalate-based plasticizers, which are endocrine-disrupting substances.
Since 2014, LG Hausys has participated in the Ministry of Environment's environmental safety assessment program for children's activity spaces, supplying eco-friendly interior materials, and has expanded its installation record by providing interior solutions with eco-friendly products such as Zea Sorijam, Zea Wallpaper Fresh, and EQ Floor for children's activity spaces including daycare centers, kindergartens, and schools.
