Acrylic Solid Surface ‘HIMACS’ Supplied to the Deutsches Museum
Expanding Global Market Share in Acrylic Solid Surface to Over 20%
LX Hausys has supplied ‘HIMACS,’ its acrylic solid surface product, to the Deutsches Museum located in Munich, Germany.
Founded in 1903, the Deutsches Museum is a specialized exhibition hall dedicated to the natural sciences and aerospace technology. It hosts around 10,000 permanent exhibitions each year and is a renowned destination visited by 1.5 million people annually.
HIMACS was used to decorate the newly renovated 1,200㎡ Chemistry Permanent Exhibition at the Deutsches Museum. With its outstanding workability, which allows 3D shapes and curved forms to be rendered seamlessly, it realistically expressed a variety of chemical structures.
In particular, walls depicting the microscopic structure of an eggshell, walls depicting plastic fiber structures, and round, soap-bubble-like walls were creatively implemented to match the concepts of each chemistry-related exhibition theme, earning high praise from visitors.
Last year, LX Hausys supplied HIMACS to the reception desks and showrooms of well-known buildings such as Germany’s health insurance fund (AOK), the Brooklyn Hotel in the UK, and Danish furniture company Muuto. Following the Guangzhou Opera House and Shanghai Disneyland in China, the Porsche showroom in Germany, the Brooklyn Museum in New York, USA, Frankfurt Airport in Germany, Naples Airport in Italy, and Charles de Gaulle Airport in France, the company continues its marketing at major renowned architectural landmarks around the world.
Buoyed by this global landmark marketing, LX Hausys ranks second in the global acrylic solid surface market with a share in the 20% range, behind DuPont of the USA. In particular, it is further narrowing the gap with DuPont in the North American and European markets.
