Commitment to innovation and sustainable growth; three mid- to long-term strategies established

20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, carbon neutrality by 2050

LX Hausys has published its 12th ESG report (Sustainability Management Report), presenting its newly established 'ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Vision,' its '2050 Carbon Neutrality Roadmap,' and its major ESG management achievements from last year.

First, the ESG vision put forward by LX Hausys is 'Innovation for Customers, ESG for the future,' reflecting the company's commitment to continue the relentless innovation and sustainable growth that lead the interior industry.

To realize this ESG vision, LX Hausys has presented three mid- to long-term strategic directions—▲Eco-friendly (We care about the environment) ▲Shared value (We move forward with our stakeholders) ▲Good governance (We do things the right way)—and plans to establish and pursue detailed strategic tasks based on them.

In addition, through this report LX Hausys unveiled its '2050 Carbon Neutrality Roadmap,' which calls for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 20% against projected levels by 2030 and achieving 'Net Zero' by 2050. To this end, the company plans to pursue carbon reductions at its business sites, the use of renewable energy, and the expansion of eco-friendly products.

Alongside this, LX Hausys also introduced its major achievements in each ESG area last year. In the environmental area, thanks to facility improvements and energy-consumption management activities, LX Hausys reduced its greenhouse gas emissions last year (118,741 tons) by about 10% compared with the previous year (131,287 tons). This is the lowest figure since the company began disclosing its emissions with the publication of its ESG report in 2012.

In the social area, the company strengthened its shared-growth activities, including doubling—compared with the previous year—the cost of supporting technology development for its partner companies' facility investment and productivity improvement. It also carried out social contribution activities such as donating interior materials to vulnerable groups through a residential-environment improvement project for socially vulnerable populations conducted with the Ministry of Environment.

In the governance area, following the establishment last year of the 'ESG Committee,' the top ESG management deliberation body within the board of directors, the company strengthened its operating organization by forming a working-level council of 28 teams from related departments, thereby launching the full-scale establishment of its ESG management system.

Thanks to these activities, LX Hausys has earned an integrated Grade A for seven consecutive years through this year in the ESG evaluation conducted by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability. LX Hausys is the only company in the domestic interior industry to have earned an integrated Grade A or higher for seven consecutive years.

An LX Hausys official said, "Since publishing the interior industry's first ESG report in 2012, we have communicated transparently with our various stakeholders, releasing our 12th report this year," adding, "We will continue to carry out ESG management that leads the interior industry."
