Publishes 11th Sustainability Report Documenting ESG Management Performance

Strengthens Environmental and Safety Activities, Including a 4th Consecutive Year of Reduced Greenhouse Gas Emissions

LX Hausys has published its 11th sustainability report documenting its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management performance over the past year, becoming the only company in the interior industry to receive an integrated 'A' rating for six consecutive years in the ESG evaluation conducted by the Korea Corporate Governance Service.

Since publishing the interior industry's first sustainability report in 2012, LX Hausys has now issued the report for 11 consecutive years, actively communicating its sustainability management performance with a wide range of stakeholders.

▲First, in the environmental sector, LX Hausys succeeded in reducing its greenhouse gas emissions for four consecutive years from 2018 through last year, driven by facility improvements and proactive energy consumption management activities. Last year, LX Hausys' greenhouse gas emissions totaled 131,286 tons, continuing to decline from 2018 (159,253 tons), and representing a reduction of 1,225 tons compared to 2020.

▲To strengthen environmental safety at its business sites, the company revised its internal regulations, the 'Safety and Health Management Regulations' and the 'Contractor Management Standards,' and made it mandatory to hold a 'Safety and Health Management Committee' at least once a year, in which LX Hausys management and other executives and staff as well as external experts participate to review the performance and plans for preventing industrial accidents and safety incidents.

▲In the social sector, the report introduced shared-growth activities such as the operation of a win-win fund for partner companies and technical support, as well as social contribution efforts that leverage the company's business capabilities. Last year, LX Hausys carried out shared-growth activities including financial support such as the operation of a 15 billion won win-win fund, along with technical support for productivity improvements and equipment upgrades across some 150 cases for about 80 partner companies. In addition, the company conducted various social contribution activities, including three initiatives to improve the residential environments of persons of national merit, three renovation projects for local children's centers, and a project with the Ministry of Environment to improve the residential environments of socially vulnerable groups.

Through the report, LX Hausys announced that, thanks to these ESG management efforts, it has earned an integrated 'A' rating for six consecutive years through this year in the ESG evaluation conducted by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS). LX Hausys is the only company in Korea's interior industry to have earned an integrated rating of 'A' or higher for six consecutive years.

An LX Hausys official said, "Through this year's report, we have disclosed in greater detail our performance on the key ESG issues that stakeholders consider important," adding, "Going forward, we will continue to promote a range of ESG management activities and transparently disclose our performance to become an even more trusted company."

Meanwhile, LX Hausys' sustainability report is produced in Korean, English, and Chinese and will be distributed to various stakeholders including customers, shareholders, partner companies, and international organizations, and can also be viewed on the company's website (www.lxhausys.co.kr).

Meanwhile, the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS) has evaluated the sustainability management levels of domestic listed companies in the environmental, social, and governance sectors through an annual ESG evaluation since 2011. Based on an evaluation model that conforms to international standards such as the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance and reflects domestic legislation and the business environment, it assigns a total of seven ESG ratings: S, A+, A, B+, B, C, and D. As of last year, no domestic company received an 'S' rating, and companies rated 'A' or higher are regarded as ESG-excellent companies.
