The industry's largest installation-workforce training facility aims to raise construction quality
Equipped with theory lecture halls and practice sites for all 15 types of work
LX Hausys is opening a comprehensive construction training facility to cultivate interior installation professionals, taking the lead in improving construction quality in Korea's interior market.
LX Hausys held the opening ceremony for the ‘LX Z:IN Comprehensive Construction Academy (tentative name)’ in Jinwi-myeon, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, with LX Hausys CEO Kang Kye-woong and others in attendance.
The ‘LX Z:IN Comprehensive Construction Academy’ was built with a total floor area of 3,650㎡ (1,104 pyeong), making it the largest installation-workforce training facility in Korea's interior industry.
It is fully equipped with theory lecture halls and practice sites for all 15 types of work—ranging from basic interior tasks such as demolition, plumbing, and electrical work to product-related installation of windows, kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, sliding partition doors, doors, and engineered stone. The practice sites reproduce the environment and conditions of actual interior construction sites identically, not only in terms of walls, water supply, and drainage but also in scale.
In particular, it is the only interior installation training facility in Korea to feature lodging facilities (30 rooms), enabling more intensive training. For every type of work, the training curriculum is subdivided into three stages—new, certification, and advancement—according to trainees' career growth paths, and the program is designed so that personnel who complete the advancement stage can ultimately become master installers.
LX Hausys plans to run approximately 160 training courses here each year, cultivating more than 3,000 professional interior installation workers annually.
The training courses offered at the ‘LX Z:IN Comprehensive Construction Academy’ are open not only to LX Hausys and partner company employees but also to members of the general public interested in interior installation.
Accordingly, LX Hausys expects the newly established ‘LX Z:IN Comprehensive Construction Academy’ to serve as a win-win model that eases the burden on small and medium-sized partner companies, which have struggled with securing new installation workers and training staff.
At the opening ceremony held that day, LX Hausys CEO Kang Kye-woong said, “Installation is one of the key points of contact where customers meet the company, and because customers use installed interior products for a long time, it is a highly sensitive and important area,” adding, “The ‘LX Z:IN Comprehensive Construction Academy’ is expected to play a pivotal role in LX Hausys becoming the number-one player in the total interior market, and by producing numerous master-level installation professionals, it will contribute to improving construction quality across Korea's interior market as a whole.”
