The special exhibition <The Moment of Brick>, held at Lotte Gallery Incheon Terminal, runs through December 26.
<The Moment of Brick> offers a delightful gift to visitors coming to Lotte Gallery this coming year-end, featuring special-edition brick works from Korea and abroad. In this exhibition, the block toy ‘Brick’ — enjoyed by people of all ages — meets seven artists and reveals the very moment it is reborn as a work of art.
‘Statue’ works — a field of brick creation in which figures such as people, animals, and sculptures are built up piece by piece — are also on display as models of dinosaurs, astronauts, and more that are sure to spark children’s curiosity. Because visitors can see that everything in the world, regardless of shape or size, can be expressed with bricks, the works not only stimulate children’s imagination but also captivate the eyes of kidults.
In addition, at a time when overseas travel is difficult due to COVID-19, this exhibition rekindles the excitement of travel and leads visitors into new spaces through works such as a giant Eiffel Tower brick art piece over 2m tall, along with pieces that capture the world of fairy tales or scenes from films. In particular, ‘Ancient Egypt,’ exhibited in Korea for the first time, is a super-sized installation depicting a pyramid, unveiled as the most splendid and magnificent work in the venue.
In this way, the exhibition not only presents a variety of artworks made from bricks but also releases exhibition limited-edition goods and custom figures for enthusiasts, satisfying visitors’ desire to shop as well.
The exhibition’s organizers explained, “We hope visitors can enjoy the <The Moment of Brick> exhibition together with their loved ones — family, partners, and friends — to celebrate Christmas at Lotte Gallery Incheon Terminal, which will adorn the year-end with an abundance of sights and things to enjoy.”
