Kyungdong Navien has launched the 'Navien Sound Sleep Mat,' which applies artificial intelligence (AI)-based sound-sleep technology developed in partnership with sleep-tech company Asleep.
The new product line consists of the 'Navien Sound Sleep Mat Hot Water,' which delivers cozy and precise temperature control, and the 'Navien Sound Sleep Mat Carbon,' which offers convenient use. The 'AI Sleep Mode' function, jointly researched with sleep-tech company Asleep, is applied to the 'Sound Sleep Mat Hot Water,' which is being released first. To use this function, install the Navien Smart app on your smartphone and link it with the product. Through the connected smartphone, the system detects the sounds of the user's breathing during sleep, analyzes the sleep stages (cycles), and then automatically adjusts to the optimal sleep temperature for each stage. For example, during the REM sleep stage—when the body's ability to regulate temperature declines and becomes sensitive to changes in the external environment—it lowers the mat's set temperature, and when not in REM sleep, it returns to the original set temperature to help ensure more comfortable sleep.
In addition, it provides information about the user's sleep patterns. It measures the quality and patterns of sleep—such as the time taken to fall asleep, actual time slept, time spent awake during the night, and time spent in deep sleep—and reports the results as a score. Furthermore, the 'Sound Sleep Mat Hot Water' features dual temperature sensing that accurately measures the temperature of the water leaving and returning to the boiler unit and keeps the sleep temperature constant, precise temperature control in 0.5-degree increments, and left-right split heating that allows use according to each individual's desired temperature. The new 'Sound Sleep Mat Hot Water' has been released in a total of four models: in addition to the ▲EMW720 (Beige) and ▲EMW700 (Dark Green) models, which include the AI Sleep Mode function, the ▲EMW520 (Slim/Cushion) and ▲EMW500 (Padding) models have been added to broaden the range of choices.
The subsequently released 'Sound Sleep Mat Carbon (▲EME550S ▲EME500S)' features a detachable adapter design, allowing worry-free use free from harmful electromagnetic waves and the risk of fire. In particular, its 0.5-degree temperature control and split heating let users set a sound-sleep temperature suited to their constitution, and it quickly reaches the set temperature upon initial operation for convenient use. Moreover, the mat section uses velour microfiber fabric—commonly used for homewear and blankets—for an even softer and warmer feel. 1588-1144
