Hansol Homedeco (CEO Kim Kyung-rok) has launched 'Wellstone,' a stone panel made from fiber extracted by melting volcanic rock—the first of its kind in Korea.
Hansol Homedeco's 'Wellstone' is a stone panel made by extracting fibrous strands from rock, processing them with heat and pressure, and then finishing the surface in various ways. Because it retains the inherent characteristics of rock, it is fundamentally resistant to both water and fire. In addition, 'Wellstone' is a groundbreaking product that shortens construction time and improves cost-efficiency by converting the wet construction method conventionally used in bathroom work into dry construction. In general, wet construction is a method in which stone, brick, concrete blocks and the like are stacked, plastered with cement, and then tiled on top. It is called wet construction because water is added to the cement mixture; because wet construction involves many processes such as masonry, plastering, and tiling, it has the drawback of a long construction period. Dry construction using various inorganic boards such as gypsum board already exists on the market, but it suffers from wall resonance, demolition costs during remodeling, and, above all, poor workability at sites requiring cutting, making on-site adaptation difficult. As a result, despite the advantage of shortening the construction period, dry construction has not been widely adopted due to the lack of suitable materials.
The newly launched 'Wellstone' is a product that overcomes these limitations of conventional dry construction. 'Wellstone' enables dry construction that does not require masonry or plastering processes, so there is no need to waterproof the wall—one simply erects the studs and installs Wellstone. Because the work can be completed in a short time through a single process carried out by a carpenter, the construction period can be shortened by up to two-thirds compared to wet construction. In addition, the wall thickness can be reduced by more than 30% compared to a wet wall, allowing a small bathroom to be used more spaciously, and its large format also creates an effect of looking more open. Furthermore, 'Wellstone' prevents mold growth and minimizes grout lines through large-scale modularization, eliminating concerns about mold and water stains. On top of that, the surface can be finished in a variety of ways, enabling diverse designs such as marble, stone, and wood, and unlike tile, it does not crack when installed with screws or nail guns.
Beyond this, thanks to the properties of its stone material, 'Wellstone' is resistant to moisture and experiences little deformation due to temperature or humidity. As a non-combustible material, it does not burn in the event of a fire and emits almost no toxic gases. In addition, because the fiber is extracted by melting rock at high temperatures, the amount of radon—a harmful substance released from stone products—detected is only one-tenth of the standard level for newly built apartments, making it an eco-friendly product that is also safe for the human body. 080-777-2299
