Kumho Electric has launched ‘K-Wave,’ a hybrid product that combines LED lighting with air-purifying functionality.
The launch reflects a growing trend in which more people are purchasing air-quality products to improve indoor air as time spent indoors increases amid the COVID-19 pandemic, while a growing base of consumers also want to decorate their homes with distinctive, personality-filled lighting.
In addition to its primary LED light source, ‘K-Wave’ features a mood-lighting function that not only helps consumers style their homes into uniquely personal spaces but also greatly expands its range of uses for a variety of effects. With a total of 16 color-changing modes, it can be set as a mood light, nursing light, or children’s bedtime light depending on the environment, and users can save their frequently used functions by theme and easily switch between them as the situation requires. In addition, periodic firmware updates are provided, allowing users to quickly and easily access mood-lighting functions with a variety of themes.
Beyond LED lighting, ‘K-Wave’ also provides an air-purifying function. Conventional air purifiers sit on the floor, taking up installation space and causing considerable inconvenience to users due to their power cords. ‘K-Wave,’ however, is installed on the ceiling rather than the floor, improving space utilization and offering the advantage of efficiently circulating the air throughout the home. The filter used in ‘K-Wave’ is a high-efficiency dust-collection filter (using HEPA material) that effectively removes ultrafine dust and various harmful substances from the air, with a recommended service life of one year. The filter uses a magnetic detachable replacement method, making replacement quick and easy.
In addition, ‘K-Wave’ checks the air quality of the installed space in real time and displays the current air condition by color across 100 levels on a status light, so it can be understood at a glance. Using a smartphone application, users can easily and conveniently control the LED lighting’s brightness, color temperature, mood lighting, and air-purifying functions, and the app also provides information such as fine-dust readings and filter-replacement notifications.
