COMMAX has unveiled ‘Cloud/Mobile Entry,’ a new cloud-based access control solution for existing apartments and aging residential complexes.

The key feature of this new product is that it can convert an existing access system to a cloud-based approach without complex wiring work. A company representative explained, “Existing apartment access control systems require significant costs for wired cabling and building complex-wide servers, and aging complexes have faced a heavy construction-cost burden when carrying out replacement work,” adding, “This solution resolves these structural limitations and enables smartphone-based access control and video calling with only minimal equipment replacement.” ‘Cloud/Mobile Entry’ links lobby phones, household wall pads, and security office terminals directly to a cloud server, allowing the management office and security office to check each household’s access status in real time. Residents can enter using a mobile key or password through a dedicated app, or remotely approve visitor access, enhancing both security and convenience at the same time. In particular, the system can be upgraded while retaining most of the existing wiring, making it easy to apply in complexes slated for reconstruction or in existing complexes seeking to improve their smart home infrastructure. According to the company, this delivers not only reduced construction costs but also shorter installation times and minimized inconvenience for residents. The AI-based facial recognition lobby phone, the core device in this lineup, uses a front-facing camera to automatically recognize residents’ faces and open the entrance door in a contactless manner. It maintains a high and fast recognition rate even when residents are wearing masks or under changing lighting conditions, and enables automatic authentication without a password, card, or mobile device, providing a hygienic and intuitive user experience. In addition, COMMAX plans to expand ‘Cloud/Mobile Entry’ into cloud-linked services such as smart door locks, elevator calls, and complex security monitoring. Through this, the company plans to introduce a service that evolves beyond simple access control into a cloud smart home platform that integrates management of the entire complex. Furthermore, the ‘App-part’ app, to be provided to strengthen mobile services, is easily accessible even for young children and the elderly, greatly improving convenience across all age groups. It also comes equipped with visitor video calling, delivery notifications, and complex announcement features, delivering a service that evolves into a ‘smart communication hub’ that even strengthens communication among apartment residents.

A company official said, “The smart home market, once centered on newly built complexes, is now expanding into the remodeling market for existing complexes,” adding, “Cloud/Mobile Entry will be the optimal alternative for implementing a smart access environment while minimizing the burden of wiring, construction, and cost.”

Meanwhile, product consultation and installation services for the ‘Cloud/Mobile Entry’ solution are available through 50 COMMAX Plazas nationwide and more than 100 dealerships. 031-731-8791
