'Star Combi Steel,' developed by Star Korea, is a new-concept flooring that improves upon the problems of conventional flooring, drawing attention from the very start of its release.
Unlike ordinary flooring, which bonds a surface sheet onto plywood roughly 7mm thick, Star Combi Steel bonds 3.5mm-thick plywood with waterproof HDF (high-density fiberboard). Although the thickness is the same, it avoids the problems that come with plywood supply and adds water-resistant performance, optimizing it for the Korean lifestyle of mopping with a wet cloth. Because two boards are bonded together, it also resists dents, pressure marks, and scratches. 'Star Combi Steel' offers not only quality but also eco-friendliness.
'Star Combi Steel' is flooring that has obtained Environmental Label certification from the Ministry of Environment. Environmental Label certification is granted only to products that reduce emissions of environmental pollutants such as carbon dioxide during the manufacturing process and whose emissions of total volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde—which cause sick-house syndrome and atopic dermatitis—meet the required standards. This is why it can be used with confidence, especially now that residents are sensitive to indoor air quality and raise strong complaints about it.
In addition, it comes in 12 colors and patterns so that a variety of interiors can be created. It includes traditionally preferred flooring patterns such as Wash Oak and Gray Oak, as well as a White Gray color that expresses the tone of marble. Among these, Wash Oak and Gray Oak are the most popular, and recently the White Gray color, which expresses a soft marble tone, has also been gaining favor. Along with 'Star Combi Steel,' the fiberboard laminate flooring product 'Star Laminate H Plus' has also been popular at construction sites recently. Fiberboard laminate flooring, made by applying a film over fiberboard processed from wood fibers, is strong against moisture and has good thermal conductivity, and has emerged as the star, surpassing reinforced flooring and laminate flooring.
'Star Laminate H Plus,' like 'Star Combi Steel,' uses waterproof HDF. The waterproof HDF used here was jointly developed with Sunchang Industries over some five years and has also been registered as a World-Class Product.
