EAGON Windows has launched 'EWS 75 OW FR,' an insulated fire-rated window that enhances building safety with overwhelming fire-protection performance while featuring a slim, premium design.
In the event of a fire, EAGON Windows' insulated fire-rated window 'EWS 75 OW FR' blocks the spread of fire and secures the golden time needed for rescue and evacuation, minimizing casualties. In addition, the glass is specially coated to prevent deformation or rupture caused by high temperatures, and the window frame is made of aluminum with proven quality and durability. Furthermore, offering higher fire-resistance and fire-protection performance than ordinary system windows, it stands firm against flames and high-temperature gases to enhance building safety. To maximize fire-protection performance, thermal expansion straps are inserted into both the sash and the frame that make up the fire-rated window. When a fire occurs, the inserted thermal expansion straps rapidly expand more than 30 times, completely filling any gaps. Thanks to this, flames and smoke from the fire find it difficult to travel or penetrate inside, preventing the fire from spreading.
Also worth noting is the nano-composite insulation inserted into the 'EWS 75 OW FR' frame. Because the nano-composite insulation embedded inside the frame absorbs the heat of the fire in the event of a blaze, it delivers both insulation and fire-protection performance, contributing to safety and everyday living. To verify this, EAGON Windows conducted testing at the Architecture & Materials Institute (AMI) in June 2023. As a result, both the interior and exterior sides passed the fire-rated window standard of non-insulated integrity of 20 minutes or more as stipulated by Korean Industrial Standard KS F 2845 (Fire-resistance test method for glazed elements), and the window was certified for its excellent insulation and airtightness performance. It is also noteworthy that, despite being a fire-rated window, it retains the modern, slim design characteristic of system windows. Transparent fire-resistant glass is combined with a slim elevation frame made of fire-resistant materials, satisfying both function and design.
In addition, this new product shares design consistency with EAGON Windows' system window products, so when installed in combination it reinforces building safety while also delivering aesthetic appeal to the building's design. EAGON Windows' new insulated fire-rated window can be manufactured up to 2000×2000 (mm) for both casement and fixed windows, and comes in five basic types depending on the opening method.
