Home&Tones, a subsidiary of Samhwa Paint Industrial, has developed and unveiled 'The Classy Jeju', an eco-friendly paint made from Jeju volcanic scoria (songi).
Volcanic scoria is a porous rock formed when lava hardens upon contact with air, and it is known as a natural material with excellent antibacterial action and humidity control. Thanks to the fine porous structure of this volcanic scoria, Home&Tones' 'The Classy Jeju' has a powerful adsorption function for environmental pollutants (such as food and pet odors), making it effective for deodorizing. In addition, it features a natural humidity control function that responds to the hot and humid climate of summer, which is an advantage that helps maintain a comfortable indoor environment.
Furthermore, because it is made from volcanic scoria harvested in Jeju, it has obtained the 'Jeju Premium Product Quality Certification (JQ Certification)'. The company added that it has also received eco-friendly certification, with no detection of harmful substances such as volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde, or of the 10 major heavy metals including cadmium, lead, and mercury.
'The Classy Jeju' comes in five colors drawn from Jeju's nature: White Pebble, Silver Grass Waves, Wildflower Pink, Jeju Wind, and Green Oreum. It is available in two painting kit volumes, 1 liter and 4 liters.
