Hyundai Livart is unveiling its designer sofas 'Seren' and 'Presidence,' which blend inspiration drawn from the golden sunset of Santorini, Greece, and from ancient Greek architecture.
'Seren' was designed with inspiration from the golden sunset of Santorini, the renowned holiday destination. The sofa features a floating-structure frame that appears to hover above the floor, with indirect lighting applied underneath to evoke a sunset bathed in yellow light. In particular, it uses premium Spanish fabric double-woven from yarns in various colors to add a sense of luxury, and it incorporates curves throughout that call to mind the architecture of Santorini. The company also explains that the design was kept clean by minimizing seam lines. 'Presidence' applies a design inspired by the architecture of ancient Greek mythology and reinterpreted in a modern way. The armrests and backrest were inspired by the form of a structure supporting the roof of a temple. Their thick, distinct sense of volume brings to mind the columns of a majestic temple. In addition, Italian orange aniline leather was used to express the intense colors of ancient Greek mythology as seen in classic paintings.
The sofas unveiled this time were designed and manufactured directly by the Hyundai Livart development team and 'Meister LAB,' its premium furniture development laboratory. Previously, Hyundai Livart introduced the 'Margarit' sofa, inspired by a flower in full bloom, and the 'Fluti' table, which embodies the figure of an elegant swan. The company explains that, through these new products, it has created products that are like works of art, combining the technical skill and diverse creativity of furniture experts.
A Hyundai Livart official said, "The Meister Collection was designed with the curves of nature as its core motif," adding, "To present premium-grade products on par with those of leading overseas luxury furniture brands, we used the finest solid wood, and Korea's top solid-wood furniture craftsmen oversee the entire manufacturing process." The official further explained, "Because experts carry out every production process by hand, the production time takes at least three weeks or more per product." 1577-3332
