NETGEAR Korea is officially launching the digital canvas 'Meural' in Korea.
'Meural Canvas' was released in the United States last year, where it won the favor of art lovers, and it drew attention in Korea as well after winning an Innovation Award at CES 2019.
The biggest feature of 'Meural Canvas' is that it lets you easily enjoy more than 30,000 masterpieces at home. Through partnerships with famous museums and art galleries around the world—including the Musée d'Orsay and the Louvre in France, the Geneva Museum in Switzerland, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the United States—it offers a wide range of more than 30,000 works. You can enjoy works not only by renowned artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt, and Keith Haring, but also by acclaimed contemporary artists such as film artists and graphic designers.
You can also enjoy photography. Through partnerships with leading photography sources—including an exclusive agreement with National Geographic, as well as Magnum Photos and the Lumen Prize—it offers a rich collection of photographic works. In addition, you can easily upload photos you have taken yourself and display them on the canvas using the Meural app.
The biggest difference from an ordinary digital picture frame is its rendering of texture. Through its proprietary 'TrueArt' technology, 'Meural Canvas' vividly reproduces the texture of brushstrokes, giving you the feeling of viewing the actual work right before your eyes. With a display that prevents glare and reflections—cited as the greatest drawback of digital picture frames—you can enjoy clean, crisp works from any viewing angle.
The product being launched in Korea is the new 'Meural Canvas II,' unveiled worldwide for the first time this fall, available in two versions: 21.5-inch and 27-inch. Both products include a three-year membership license that allows unlimited viewing of more than 30,000 paintings and photographic works.
Kim Hee-jun, director at NETGEAR Korea, said, "Meural Canvas, which lets you enjoy about 30,000 works of art within a single frame, is a new-concept digital canvas that can be used in many ways, from appreciating art to art-inspired interior design," adding, "We expect it to establish itself as a new trend for enjoying art among art lovers and many others."
Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch of Meural Canvas, NETGEAR is holding a purchase-review event. Customers who write a product review by January 31 of next year will receive a NETGEAR USB wireless LAN adapter 'A6210,' worth 60,000 won. Details about the event can be found through the NETGEAR Store. 02-555-0764
