Royal Copenhagen, the Danish royal porcelain brand with 248 years of heritage, has unveiled its lettering service, the 'Bespoke Mug,' as a gift-season event.
Royal Copenhagen's Bespoke Mug is crafted through a meticulous process in which an artisan hand-inscribes a name or initials on the inner surface of the mug.
Making its domestic debut this time, the Bespoke Edition features a single style—the 'Princess High Handle Mug,' distinguished by its delicacy and elegance. As a seasonal limited event, only 200 pieces will be sold at Royal Copenhagen department store boutiques nationwide starting February 1. The lettering work on ordered mugs is commissioned to Denmark for production.
The inscription on a Bespoke Mug can only use the English alphabet, up to a maximum of 15 characters. It is hand-painted directly by Denmark's finest artisans—the same masters who paint Royal Copenhagen's top-tier line, 'Flora Danica,' and its special editions—and because inscribing the letters in reverse on the inner surface is a highly demanding and delicate task, the piece carries great collectible value. The Bespoke Mug comes in a blue pouch that is perfect for gifting, along with a signed thank-you card.
A representative of Royal Copenhagen Korea said, "The Bespoke Mug is made all the more valuable by the delicate hand lettering that only Royal Copenhagen's skilled artisans can achieve," adding, "We hope you will give something special to your loved ones with a Bespoke Mug inscribed with meaningful words."
