Legrand Korea, the Korean subsidiary of the Legrand Group, is launching a new 'LED Dimming Switch' to be applied to the 'Arteor' model, which holds a high market share in Korea's high-end market, and the 'Affela' model, its entry-level product.
Korea's LED lighting market has been actively adopted and used across the commercial and industrial markets, hotels and hospitals, and especially the residential market. However, the LED dimming market has been somewhat less active than the general LED light (surface-mounted light) market. This is because the 'dimming switch' — essential for controlling dimmable lights — struggles with compatibility depending on the various LED chips from different manufacturers and their specifications. While smooth brightness control should be possible, problems such as brightness jumping or flickering often occur. In addition, some low-cost products sold as 'LED dimmers' frequently fail to meet user expectations, as the illumination does not adjust smoothly or noise occurs. While low-cost products may be advantageous in terms of cost, they risk undermining the ambiance instead, due to poor brightness control or light flickering and noise.
The 'LED Dimming Switch' newly launched by Legrand Korea is a product developed on the basis of years of technical expertise in supplying dimming switches in Korea. It boasts perfect compatibility regardless of the various LED manufacturers, and is a 2-wire product that implements dimming by replacing only the switch and lamp with dimmable versions using the existing wiring, without any additional wiring or changes. The new product applies PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology as standard to ensure accurate and stable brightness, and it has a clear point of differentiation in that a dimming adjustment lever (Min. & Max) installed on the back of the product allows adjustment tailored to the characteristics of each LED light.
The premium 'Arteor' model is released as an 'LED Dimming Switch' module in four finishes: White, Magnesium, Soft Alu, and Champagne. The advantages of 'Arteor' are that, from its sophisticated appearance, it allows the direct application of European-style designs that have been gaining attention in the recent interior market, along with a choice of various finishes. The entry-level 'Affela' model is a set product that includes the plate, offered in two configurations: an 'LED Dimming Switch' only, and an 'LED Dimming Switch + standard 1-way 1-gang switch.' It is also available in four finishes — White, Magnesium, Silver, and Black — for a total of eight types.
An official from Legrand Korea expressed its ambition, stating, "To further solidify our position in the premium interior market, we will continue to launch new products."
Meanwhile, Legrand Korea, which has been drawing attention in Korea's data center market, continues its active push by recently unveiling premium digital door locks and electric vehicle charging solutions one after another. 02-550-3261
