Rinnai has launched a new product, the ‘Digital Electric Water Heater,’ equipped with a smart memory function and a sterilization function.
The new lineup comprises 5 models in a range of capacities—15, 30, and 50 liters—and comes in two types, an under-sink type and a wall-mounted type, offering customers a wide range of choices depending on their installation environment and intended use. The product’s biggest features are its usage-pattern-learning-based smart memory function and its sterilization function for enhanced hygiene. Electric water heaters are generally used in the commercial market at fixed times and in fixed patterns. Reflecting this characteristic, Rinnai has introduced a function that learns a user’s hot water usage times and set temperatures over the course of a week and then automatically preheats at those same times thereafter. This allows commercial users to reduce unnecessary waiting time and use hot water efficiently. In addition, a sterilization function has been added to fundamentally address hygiene concerns. Because water is stored in the inner tank, if the interior becomes contaminated, external management alone cannot prevent bacterial problems. In particular, at foodservice sites such as restaurants and cafés, bacterial contamination can directly lead to business disruptions, so more thorough management is required. When the sterilization function is activated, the ‘Rinnai Electric Water Heater’ heats the water to 65 degrees and maintains it for up to 30 minutes, effectively removing 100% of bacteria harmful to the human body, such as Legionella and Staphylococcus aureus. Ease of use has also been greatly improved. A touch-type digital display enables intuitive operation, and the heater is equipped with various safety devices—including dry-heating prevention at low water levels, freeze prevention, and overheating prevention—putting user safety first.
Kang Sang-gyu, head of Rinnai’s Sales Division, said, “The new electric water heater is a product developed so that it learns the user’s lifestyle patterns on its own, allowing for more convenient and safe use at commercial sites,” adding, “It is available through Rinnai dealers and online retailers nationwide.”
Meanwhile, the launch of the ‘Rinnai Electric Water Heater’ is part of Rinnai’s move to fully expand its electric products business. Having declared the opening of the era of electric products in May last year with the campaign slogan ‘Your Warm and Electric (溫電) Habit,’ Rinnai is expanding its portfolio with a variety of electric kitchen appliances—including this electric water heater as well as induction cooktops, electric ovens, and microwave ovens. 1544-3651
