Baekjo Sink is launching its double sink bowl, the 'BD832.' While the single (1-BOWL) sink bowl has established itself as the mainstream choice, consumer interest has recently been growing in the double (2-BOWL) sink bowl, which divides the basin into two.
In sink bowl design, the double bowl applied to rayon sink bowls was popular until the late 1980s, but the single-bowl form became mainstream after it was introduced in the early 1990s. Since then, changes in kitchen and dishwashing culture—such as the use of dishwashers, separate washing, and soaking in water—have recently driven a renewed rise in preference for double sink bowls. According to the company's own consumer survey, preference for double sink bowls edged up from 10% in 2019 to 12% in 2020. Although it remains a niche market for now, its preference is gradually increasing.
Taking these consumer changes into account, Baekjo Sink newly developed a unique, modern double sink bowl with improvements in functionality and design. Its greatest feature is that it is the first product to apply a medium-sized drain devised by Baekjo Sink itself. Considering Korea's food culture, the drain was made 42% larger in diameter than a small drain and 22% smaller than a large drain to enable smooth disposal of food waste. Its food waste storage capacity is greater than that of both existing small and large drains, while the usability of the sink bowl's floor surface has been enhanced. Its refined design also stands out. A brushed finish increases the durability of the surface and conveys a luxurious, unique appeal. In addition, the product diversifies its functions by applying an HPL drain cover and a colored scrubber net. This product is expected not only to satisfy diverse demands in the domestic market but also to draw a strong response in the global market. The company is also currently reviewing it as a product for overseas export.
