Samsung Electronics has launched a new BESPOKE refrigerator equipped with the ‘Family Hub’ feature.
The ‘BESPOKE Refrigerator Family Hub’ is a product that combines artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to perform functions such as ingredient management, family communication, entertainment, and smart home control. Recognized for its innovation since its debut in 2016, it has won a CES Innovation Award for six consecutive years.
The product has been especially well received for the convenient ingredient management enabled by its ‘Food AI’ technology, which delivers features such as food auto-recognition and personalized meal recommendations. Using advanced food auto-recognition technology, the ‘BESPOKE Family Hub’ identifies the various ingredients being stored on its own, and the recognized ingredients can be added to and managed in a ‘Food List.’ The feature that suggests optimal meal plans and recipes based on the ingredients in the Food List or the food preferences of family members offers seven finely segmented options—ranging from ingredient preferences to diet and nutrition—delivering even more advanced, personalized meal plans. The cooking mode, time, and temperature provided in the recommended recipes can be sent directly to a Samsung flame grill oven or microwave, and the necessary ingredients can be conveniently ordered online through the emart mall app, enabling a seamlessly connected kitchen experience.
The ‘BESPOKE Family Hub’ also features an enhanced ‘Cover Screen’ function that adds elegance to a space by displaying paintings or photos when the product is not in use. This new product comes preloaded with more than 120 works of classical and modern art by artists from around the world, and adds an ‘Atelier’ feature that provides descriptions of each work by voice or text.
The new product also comes with improved ‘Smart Home’ functions. The smart home features include ▲‘Home Care Manager,’ which diagnoses and manages home appliances; ▲‘SmartThings Air,’ which integrates and manages air quality; ▲‘SmartThings Energy,’ which provides energy usage monitoring and power-saving guides; and ▲‘SmartThings Home Monitor’ for security management.
Samsung’s new ‘BESPOKE Refrigerator Family Hub’ is available as a 4-door freestanding model with a capacity of 824–854 liters. The door panels, which can be chosen according to taste, come in a total of 23 colors, and the panels that include a touchscreen are offered in three options: Glam Navy, Glam White, and Glam Deep Charcoal.
