Samsung Electronics has unveiled its new 'Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub+,' equipped with a large touchscreen, at CES 2023, the world's largest home appliance exhibition.

First launched in 2016, Family Hub integrates AI and IoT technologies into refrigerators to deliver services related to entertainment, family communication, cooking, and the smart home.

Reflecting consumers' strong recent preference for large screens, Samsung Electronics has applied a 32-inch Full HD touchscreen to this new product—more than double the area of the previous 21.5-inch model—delivering Family Hub's diverse services with greater convenience and immersion.

The 32-inch screen on this new product is optimized for the vertical-format videos offered by major social media platforms such as YouTube. Content tailored to consumers' tastes and lifestyles—such as recipe videos from the SmartThings Cooking service and artworks from the 'Bespoke Atelier' app—can be enjoyed vividly on the 32-inch screen, further expanding its entertainment capabilities.

Users can monitor and control multiple devices connected to SmartThings at a glance through big widgets, and can intuitively use the six SmartThings Home Life services (Energy, Cooking, Air Care, Home Care, Pet Care, and Clothing Care), making it highly useful.

In particular, with a built-in SmartThings hub, lighting, blinds, switches, motion sensors, and door-open sensors from various manufacturers can also be controlled through Family Hub, allowing the refrigerator to be used as a home IoT hub.

Lee Jun-hwa, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances Business, said, "The Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub that Samsung Electronics is newly introducing offers an experience expanded as significantly as its larger screen," adding, "Going forward, Family Hub will continue to lead the innovation and evolution of refrigerators by reflecting consumers' changing usage patterns and lifestyle trends."
