Following the February launch of its new ‘BESPOKE WindFree Air Conditioner Gallery,’ Samsung Electronics has now released the 2022 ‘BESPOKE WindFree Air Conditioner Gallery Slim Fit’ (hereinafter WindFree Gallery Slim Fit) and the ‘WindFree Air Conditioner Classic.’
The new WindFree Gallery Slim Fit maintains the same powerful cooling performance as before while introducing a slimmer size and enhanced eco-friendly functions. The product features a slim design with a white-patterned metal art panel on its front, creating a bright indoor atmosphere.
In addition, it comes equipped with all of the existing powerful cooling functions, including ‘Wide WindFree Cooling,’ which saves up to 90% on power consumption through WindFree operation with no direct airflow, and ‘High Pass Circulation Rapid Cooling,’ in which four fans quickly deliver cool air.
Every WindFree Gallery Slim Fit model earned the top Grade 1 energy efficiency rating. Both the three WindFree Gallery models released in February (cooling areas of 81.8, 75.5, and 65.9㎡) and the WindFree Gallery Slim Fit released this time (cooling area of 58.5㎡) have all achieved Grade 1 energy efficiency, easing consumers’ electricity bill burden.
Beyond this, a wide range of eco-friendly technologies have been extensively applied to this year’s WindFree Gallery and WindFree Gallery Slim Fit new products. They are the first air conditioners in Korea to adopt the eco-friendly R32 refrigerant and to introduce a solar cell remote control that does not use disposable batteries. The first adoption of R32 is based on the Korea Energy Agency’s registered electric cooling appliance products as of February 23, 2022.
The R32 refrigerant has a global warming potential (GWP) of only about 33% of that of the existing R410A refrigerant, and is expected to reduce annual carbon emissions by up to 750,000 tons based on Samsung’s 2022 household air conditioners. The solar cell remote control, which does not use disposable batteries, also won the ‘Sustained Excellence’ award at the ‘2021 SMM Awards (Sustainable Materials Management Awards)’ hosted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) this past March.
In addition, it is fully equipped with essential functions designed for user convenience and hygiene, including △the ‘Easy Care 7-Step’ system, which adds a function to sterilize the fan by 99.9%[4] using a UV LED, △the ‘Clean Filter System,’ which enables fine dust purification and space sterilization[5] across all models, and △‘Metal Cooling,’ in which cool air emitted from approximately 220,000 metal WindFree holes cools the space.
With a cooling area of 58.5㎡, the new WindFree Gallery Slim Fit lets consumers choose from three colors according to their taste and preferred specifications, with factory prices ranging from 3,823,000 won to 4,144,000 won per unit depending on specifications. The metal art panel (front) comes in Chevron White, Fabric White, and Snow Forest, while the art panel (bottom) comes in Natural White and Beige.
Samsung Electronics is also launching the three 2022 WindFree Air Conditioner Classic models (cooling areas of 81.8, 62.6, and 58.5㎡) along with the 2022 Q9000 air conditioner, which adds the Clean Filter System to strengthen its fine dust purification function.
