Samhwa Paint Ind., the first in the coatings industry to release the anti-viral functional paint ‘Ansim Doctor,’ has expanded its lineup by successively unveiling new products in the ‘Ansim Doctor Series.’

Samhwa Paint has launched two products: ‘Ansim Doctor Waterborne Clear’ and ‘Ansim Doctor Waterborne Stain.’ Ansim Doctor Waterborne Clear is a transparent product that can be applied to a wide range of surfaces such as wood, interior walls, and multi-color patterns, and it can achieve the desired gloss—high-gloss, semi-gloss, or matte—allowing you to create the look and feel you want. When applied to the walls and hallways of multi-use facilities such as apartments, commercial buildings, and academies, it preserves the existing interior while also delivering an anti-viral effect, adding economic value to hygiene. ▲Ansim Doctor Waterborne Stain is an anti-viral paint suited for wood. When applied to interior items made of wood, such as solid-wood houses and solid-wood furniture, it preserves the natural grain of the wood while offering fast drying and excellent antibacterial, anti-rot, and insect-repellent functions.

Both new products have a 99.9% kill effect against viruses such as COVID-19 and influenza, contain no organic solvents or heavy metals harmful to the human body, and minimize their content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), earning indoor certification from the Ministry of Environment. The virus-kill test verified the anti-viral function using picornavirus at an agency under the Ministry of Health and Welfare. According to a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency white paper, it has been reported that if a product is effective against non-enveloped viruses, which are highly resistant to anti-viral agents, it will also be effective against less-resistant viruses such as coronaviruses and the Ebola virus.

A Samhwa Paint official said, “We recognized the need for an anti-viral paint that can be applied not only to interior walls but also to furniture and accessories that people come into direct contact with, so we expanded the Ansim Doctor lineup.”
