Sang-A Tile Co., Ltd. has opened an exhibition space on the first floor of its Nonhyeon-dong headquarters where visitors can experience firsthand the latest tile trend, 'ultra-large thin slim tiles.'
Known as third-generation tiles, 'thin tiles (Large Size_Slabs)' are emerging as a key item in the tile industry, with the advantages of being ultra-thin, ultra-lightweight, and available in large formats. Their lightweight nature makes them applicable to high-rise buildings, and because they are harder than granite of the same thickness yet lighter than aluminum, they serve as an effective substitute for natural stone, tile, and glass. In particular, in keeping with the trend toward larger tiles, they are available in a popular 1.2×2.4m format as well as a large 1.6×3.2m format for commercial and specialty spaces, making them highly valuable not only as interior materials for residential and commercial spaces but also as building exterior materials. Recently, ultra-high-resolution digital printing has enabled realistic design representations of metal, wood, marble, stone, and more, broadening the range of design choices available to consumers.
Recognizing the potential for expanding the ultra-large thin slim tile market in Korea, Sang-A Tile has newly established a dedicated slim tile exhibition space in the showroom on the first floor of its headquarters. The 260㎡ showroom displays full-size panels exactly as they are, allowing visitors to directly experience the post-installation realism that cannot be conveyed through catalogs or samples. Through slide panels dedicated to thin tiles, Sang-A Tile has arranged its display so that visitors can comfortably and efficiently browse more than 100 types of tiles in a single space.
