Royal Copenhagen, the Danish royal porcelain brand with 246 years of heritage, is launching 'Royal Creatures' in the Korean market—a world first.

Royal Creatures was born from a collaboration with 'GamFratesi,' the world-renowned designer duo based in Denmark. After reinterpreting Royal Copenhagen's heritage and working on the project for several years, GamFratesi completed Royal Creatures through an experimental design approach. Royal Creatures takes as its theme the three wave motifs of the Royal Copenhagen logo—symbolizing the straits surrounding Denmark—and an exploration of those seas, depicting a variety of creatures on porcelain.

Royal Creatures boldly portrays creatures living along the shoreline, in shallow waters, and in the deep sea, reinterpreting the pattern of Royal Copenhagen's traditional Blue Half Lace line. A variety of whimsically and beautifully hand-painted creatures roam freely across the porcelain, and through the artisan's brushwork, the pattern is completed with a unique and witty character.

To commemorate this world-first advance launch in the Korean market, the limited quantity offered for the first time bears special numbers from 1 to 400, hand-painted on the reverse side. Royal Creatures comes in a total of 9 items, released as Shallow Bowls, Oval Dishes, and Thermal Mugs, each in three different patterns.

The new Royal Creatures 'Shallow Bowl' is available in three patterns—Grasshopper, Blowfish, and Swan—and is well suited for use as a dinner plate or as an individual bowl for serving shared dishes. The 'Oval Dish,' whose distinctive decoration and form add variation to the table setting, can be found in three patterns—Crab, Grasshopper, and Herring—while the practical 'Thermal Mug' is offered in the Swan and Herring patterns.

Royal Copenhagen's 9 new 'Royal Creatures' items are available at Royal Copenhagen department store locations nationwide and at the official online mall. 02-749-2002
