The Saule Collection was developed over the course of a year, seeking to capture the abstract beauty of the willow in an elegant, organic way. Lovingly handcrafted by talented artisans at the Larose Guyon studio in Verchères, Canada, every detail of the Saule Collection embodies the essence of the natural world. Handmade brass leaves cascade from graceful metal arches, echoing the gentle sway of willow branches and catching the light to create a mesmerizing shimmer. This process resembles the intricate work of a jeweler, where precision and craftsmanship come together to create something truly special. Each leaf is shaped with love and careful attention, radiating the delicate beauty and organic flow that define the Saule Collection and making each luminaire not merely a light, but a work of art.
At the heart of each luminaire sits a subtly pink-tinted glass sphere, evoking a delicate fruit suspended among the branches. Each glass sphere is hand-blown by skilled glass artisans in Montreal, adding an additional layer of craftsmanship to the design. Within each sphere, a smaller, soft glass orb nests inside a larger one, creating a stunning interplay of form, texture, and light. The soft, warm glow further accentuates the organic flow of the design. The refined design technique creates a distinctive, layered aesthetic that reinforces the organic feel of the lighting and makes each piece truly original. The combination of the two glass elements provides a subtle visual depth that complements the natural elegance of the Saule Collection.
Inspired by the graceful beauty of the willow, the Saule Collection also features several brass arches that mirror the elegance of tree branches. The arches form graceful, sculptural frames that enhance the overall presence of the luminaire. Drawing inspiration from the movement of a mobile, the Saule luminaires sway gently, infusing a soft, dynamic energy into the space. The brass leaves delicately draped from the arches shimmer in the light, evoking the natural sway of willow leaves.
Larose Guyon’s Saule Collection is custom-made in small and large sizes to suit a variety of spaces perfectly, with each size available in configurations of 1, 3, or 5 luminaires. This modular approach allows Saule to adapt to a wide range of settings—illuminating a long dining table, casting light along a staircase, or creating a dramatic focal point above a round table.
