'Soundmate' — enhancing sound quality and preventing noise
KD Wood Tech has launched 'Soundmate,' a brand featuring acoustic properties, unveiling it to consumers at the Korea Build architecture expo held this past March, as well as at the Gwangju and Daegu architecture expos.
'Soundmate' had been under research for several years, but the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic accelerated its introduction to consumers. Until now, professional acoustic panels with sound-tuning properties have been installed in venues such as opera houses and concert halls, or limited to audio listening rooms. Recently, however, as built-in furniture integrated into walls has grown in popularity, noise-related problems—such as severe sound reverberation—have become frequent even in the home. As a result, a quiet environment is becoming an essential element of design, and in Europe demand for acoustic panels in homes, restaurants, and other spaces has been surging for several years now.
Reflecting this trend, the new product 'Soundmate' has been developed as a scientific art wall that delivers not only indoor acoustic effects but also exceptional performance in blocking noise between neighbors. In particular, its easy installation and portability make it simple to adopt for partial installations or remodeling projects.
'Soundmate' comprises ▲the Acoustic Board Panel, which enables wall-mounted self-installation ▲the Acoustic Click Louver, which is easy to install anywhere, including on curved surfaces ▲the Acoustic Channel Rib, which can be used as an indoor and outdoor soundproof wall ▲and the Grand Combination Louver of magnificent scale.
The flagship product, the 'KD Acoustic Board Panel,' is the easiest to install and is released as a finished product in a variety of wood species and colors—such as oak, ash, silkwood, and paulownia—so it can be selected to suit one's taste and space. In particular, the 'KD Acoustic Board Panel' is a home acoustic panel optimized for TV viewing: a PET sound-absorbing material is placed beneath the wooden slats to dissipate low-frequency sound that passes through the wooden slats or is directly incident upon them. It is therefore highly effective at blocking low-frequency sound that spreads to other rooms through the back of a TV or bass speaker, thereby reducing noise. In addition, during the process of reflecting off the wooden slats, it produces richer and more beautiful sound.
The 'KD Acoustic Board Panel' can be applied to a wide range of spaces requiring quiet, including the living room or bedroom of a home and study rooms that demand concentration, as well as commercial spaces, office spaces, meeting rooms, and seminar rooms. The 'KD Acoustic Board Panel' is released in a large format measuring 600 mm wide by 2,400 mm high, with thickness options of 32 mm, 21 mm, and 18 mm. At the buyer's request, aluminum brackets can be mounted on the rear of the board panel, or the panel can be cut to a size matching the installation wall; and because you simply attach the aluminum brackets to the wall and then hang the panels in order like picture frames, self-installation is possible. 02-3401-5525
