Festool Korea, the premium power-tool brand, announced that it will launch new 12V cordless compact drills this July, combining a compact 700g weight and design with powerful output.
The 'CXS 12&TXS 12'—Festool's first-ever 12V drill lineup—is designed with an unrivaled light weight of 700g (excluding battery and accessories) among compact-class drills and an ultra-compact design (TXS 12: 13.3 cm long, 22.2 cm high including battery / CXS 12: 15.6 cm long, 17.7 cm high including battery), delivering versatile, high-quality work performance even in tight spaces. In addition, the next-generation brushless EC-TEC motor provides powerful drive output that ensures impressive performance and durability even in typical drilling and driving tasks, with enough power to easily handle a 35 mm-diameter Forstner bit in softwood or a 6 mm-diameter, 200 mm-long screw. The light weight of the battery is another major advantage. The new 12V 2.5Ah battery mounted on the 'CXS 12&TXS 12' weighs just 0.27 kg, enabling even lighter and more delicate work. Furthermore, the 12V battery pack can be charged on Festool's 18V battery chargers, making it very convenient to use alongside other Festool 18V tools.
Notably, the various system solutions Festool has devised to make working with the new 'CXS 12&TXS 12' even lighter also stand out. Fitting Festool's CENTROTEC chuck allows work with a chuck that is 80% lighter and 50% shorter overall than a standard drill chuck, and using accessories such as the dedicated lightweight keyless chuck included as standard with the CXS&TXS 12 and the dedicated lightweight angle chuck accessory ensures the best work efficiency and portability.
Moreover, various details considered for operators across Festool's general drill portfolio are equally applied to the CXS&TXS 12: △precise and delicate torque adjustment made easy with 13 settings △a magnetic bit holder that can hold bits and screws △LED lighting that provides the best view of the work area. In addition, they are fully compatible with Festool's various drill chucks featuring the smart FastFix interface and with CENTROTEC accessories, ensuring outstanding work flexibility.
