Shinsegae Casa has launched MONS, a pet-friendly furniture brand. Built on carefully selected materials such as scratch-resistant functional fabrics and sturdy solid wood, combined with Shinsegae Casa's own design, the company is introducing premium pet furniture as part of a strategy to target the 8 trillion won market of 6.02 million pet-owning households.
'MONS' provides a comfortable space for both people and pets through thoughtful functional design that considers the habits and lifestyle patterns of companion animals living at home. A key feature is its clean, sophisticated design that also enhances the aesthetics of the space. The 'MONS' series comprises a diverse range of products used together with or separately from pets, including ▲sofas ▲five types of cat furniture ▲pet cushions. The first product to launch, the 'MONS Sofa,' is a modular sofa with a modern design based on a clean silhouette, engineered from its design concept to its materials to be used by pets and people alike. Designed with a low height and wide backrest and armrests, it offers ample room for pets to move around on the sofa or to sit alongside their owners. Its material is a functional fabric from Europe's SIC with strong water-repellent, stain-resistant, antibacterial, and deodorizing properties, making spills and stains easy to manage. With a tightly woven texture and a Grade 4 snag rating for strong scratch resistance, there is little risk of a pet's claws getting caught, reducing the chance of injury to the pet or damage to the sofa. In particular, it consists of four modules—a Pet Stepper (a staircase-shaped piece of pet furniture that helps pets easily climb on and off the sofa), a corner type, an open couch, and an armless type—so users can freely choose and arrange them according to their lifestyle and the size and shape of their space.
The company is also launching 'five types of cat furniture' for cats, fully expanding its pet furniture portfolio. The 'cat furniture' lineup includes 'two types of cat towers' designed with cats' habits in mind, a 'Climber' that allows cats to safely climb upward, and a 'Tea Table' and 'Side Table' that create a space for cats so they can stay by their owner's side while it is in use. The 'cat furniture' is made from 'ash solid wood,' commonly used in premium furniture, and is characterized by its firm quality and beautiful grain. In addition, the company is introducing 'pet cushions' filled with microfiber, an ultra-fine new material, to create a soft and cozy space for pets to sleep and rest.
