The 'Artist Editions' are high-end products whose patterns and designs are completed by hand from inspirations drawn from everyday life, works of art, and more. They are especially popular among customers who want to create a bathroom with individual character.
'Hidden Oriental,' newly introduced by KOHLER this year, is a product distinguished by its Oriental beauty. Inspired by China, the 'Hidden Oriental' edition consists of washbasins in a bluish 'Blushy White' and a clean 'Moon White' reminiscent of moonlight. Characterized overall by bright tones, it adds Oriental charm through the engraved motif of a sandalwood fan. In particular, Blushy White—rooted in pale celadon—stands out for its lustrous bluish hue and soft coloring.
'Dutchmaster,' which features bold floral patterns against a black background, draws inspiration from 17th-century Dutch masterpiece paintings. To render the lavish, intricate floral patterns, KOHLER collaborated with 'Florography' artist Ashley Woodson Bailey. Through this, the vivid movement of flowers was captured in an instant and rendered as a pattern. You can see peonies, dahlias, ranunculus, and hydrangeas blooming gorgeously, shining dramatically against the dark background.
'Sartorial' is a product that pays homage to the refined elegance of 19th-century European textiles. Depending on the motif engraved on the product, it is divided into 'Paisley' and 'Herringbone' patterns. 'Paisley' is a design inspired by the ornate French block prints of 1850, characterized by its intricate pattern. 'Herringbone' draws inspiration from haberdashery (menswear) textile patterns to create a modern yet geometric feel.
'Shagreen,' which expresses shark and ray skin, is characterized by its subtle colors and distinctive leather-like texture.
