Inus, the total living brand of IS Dongseo (IS Dongseo, CEO Kwon Min-seok), announced that its ‘Sterilizing Waterproof Bidet (IS-735)’ has been gaining popularity, with sales more than doubling compared to last year’s monthly average following the COVID-19 outbreak.
As the COVID-19 situation has dragged on and consumer interest in hygiene has grown, products equipped with hygiene management functions are drawing attention. The ‘Sterilizing Waterproof Bidet’ is a product that perfectly resolves the major concerns consumers face when using a bidet through a triple solution of smart nozzle sterilization, ultra-strong waterproofing, and smart deodorization. In particular, the smart nozzle sterilization function is a nozzle cleaning system using electrolytically generated sterilized water, introduced for the first time in an Inus bidet. Because it cleans the nozzle—which dispenses water that comes into direct contact with sensitive body areas—through an electrolyzed-water sterilization function, it can be used comfortably like new without worries about bacteria. In tests conducted by the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL), it demonstrated a 99.9% removal rate for E. coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus.
The waterproofing function has also been upgraded. The product, which operates via control-panel operation, has obtained the ‘IPX5’ rating, capable of blocking water sprayed from all directions. This is the highest waterproof rating that can be achieved with a bidet-body control operation method rather than a remote control. The control operation unit also applies Korea’s first 100% urethane molding structure and, having undergone PCB (PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD) waterproofing treatment, allows for easy cleaning with water. The operation-unit buttons are designed as a touch panel that responds to even the slightest touch, minimizing malfunctions caused by button pressing. The odor that is a major concern when going to and from the bathroom is also handled by the smart deodorization function. A built-in activated filter that captures odors keeps the environment comfortable at all times before and after using the bidet. The deodorization function operates automatically when the user sits on the seat, and when the user stands up during use, it runs for about one minute before stopping.
In addition, an LED light has been added that allows the bidet to be used at night without turning on the bathroom light, along with various convenience functions such as a warm-air drying function, a smooth-bowel function that aids bowel movements with a gentle stream of water, and a children’s function that sets water pressure and nozzle positions suitable for children. One-touch detachment makes installation and removal simple and cleaning easy, and the soft open/close function allows the seat to close smoothly without noise, eliminating the risk of cover damage.
An Inus official said, “As the spread of the coronavirus infection continues, more and more consumers are seeking out bidets—a representative hygiene appliance—and especially products with enhanced nozzle hygiene management functions,” adding, “We will continue to strive to develop and provide products that consumers truly need, based on Inus’s unrivaled bidet manufacturing technology.” 1588-8613
