Global household goods company LOCK&LOCK Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Sung-hoon) has launched 'Ttaro, Sseunaeng,' a food waste refrigerator that prevents odors and food spoilage to keep the kitchen clean and hygienic.
'Ttaro, Sseunaeng' is short for 'a separately used waste refrigerator,' carrying the meaning that food waste should be stored in 'Ttaro, Sseunaeng' rather than being frozen and kept in the freezer. The new product minimizes noise and vibration with cooling technology that uses the 'Peltier element,' a cooling semiconductor primarily used in vehicle refrigerators and cosmetics refrigerators. In particular, aluminum, which has high cold-conductivity, extends all the way up to the top of the interior of the main body, so that the cold air does not stay only at the bottom of the inner container but spreads evenly to the upper part as well. As a result, the entire inner container is maintained at a temperature lower than 5°C, the average temperature of an ordinary refrigerator, preventing the growth of bacteria caused by spoilage.
In addition, the new 'Ttaro, Sseunaeng' features LOCK&LOCK's unrivaled airtight sealing technology just as it is. The 'outer container lid' connected to the main body is fitted with a hollow-type silicone that provides strong adhesion and blocks airflow, while the 'inner container lid' is fitted with a compression-type silicone ring, so this double lid can effectively block odors and insects. Another major feature is enhanced ease of use. With a 3L capacity and a weight of 2.3 kg based on the inner container, it is not bulky and offers good portability, and by fixing the inner container lid to the outer container lid, you can dispose of food waste right away with just a single press of the open button. When you need to empty the waste, you can simply separate only the inner container from the main body for clean disposal.
