Higher Insulation Performance, Even Slimmer Frames
EAGON Windows, a leading domestic system window and door company, has launched three models in its 'Passive Series' and two models in its 'Grandview Series,' both offering excellent insulation performance and slim designs, in response to customers' growing demand for premium windows and doors.
Building on the stable structural performance and airtightness that are the strengths of conventional aluminum system windows, the new products dramatically improve insulation performance while slimming down the frame size to widen the view and enhance design value. Based on their distinctive features, the new products are organized into the high-performance, high-insulation 'Passive Series' and the ultra-slim 'Grandview Series.'
The 'Passive Series' (ESS 250 LS, EWS 95 TT, EWS 95 OW) consists of high-performance aluminum system windows that achieve world-class thermal transmittance, featuring outstanding insulation performance rated Energy Consumption Efficiency Grade 1 or higher along with a slimmer design. To achieve this breakthrough improvement in insulation performance, the series applies a 'hybrid insulation frame design' as its core technology, delivering exceptional insulation that was difficult to realize with conventional single-pane aluminum system windows. In particular, the flagship 'EWS 95 TT' boasts insulation performance with a thermal transmittance of 0.86 W/㎡K when fitted with triple glazing, and can achieve passive-house-class thermal transmittance (0.72 W/㎡K) when combined with EAGON's next-generation high-performance glass, 'Super Vacuum Glazing.'
In addition, while meeting insulation performance rated Energy Consumption Efficiency Grade 1 or higher, the 'Passive Series' has an even slimmer frame thickness compared to existing products. This is a remarkable achievement considering that the typical development approach for improving a window's insulation performance is to thicken and reinforce the elevation width of the window frame. In particular, the lift-sliding window 'ESS 250 LS' applies an 'integrated Fix-Frame design,' which combines the sash frame with the window frame to reduce the frame of the fixed window. This reduces the frame width by more than 50% compared to EAGON's existing 'ESS 190 LS' product, allowing for a wider and more open view from indoors.
The 'Grandview Series' (EWS 75 TT, EWS 75 OW) features a design that is even slimmer than comparable products from other companies, reflecting the minimalist architectural trend. Among them, the 'EWS 75 TT' has a total elevation width of just 73 mm for the window frame and sash combined, making its frame size about 32% slimmer than EAGON's existing products. As the frame is reduced, the glass area increases, allowing for a wider view from indoors and providing a more comfortable environment by also increasing indoor daylighting. Furthermore, once installed, the 'Grandview Series' greatly slims down the size of the window frame and sash as seen from the building's exterior, making it well suited to expressing modern architectural beauty. From an interior standpoint, it is designed to enhance the beauty of a space by adopting a minimalist design and a luxurious painted finish. In addition, while maintaining the strong durability and structural performance of aluminum system windows, the insulation performance has improved by about 15% compared to existing products, despite the slimmer frame. When fitted with triple glazing, it satisfies Energy Consumption Efficiency Grade 1, reducing the burden of seasonal heating and cooling costs.
The new products also feature significantly enhanced handle and hardware options. The handle color range has been diversified from the previous three options—white, black, and gray—to six by adding colors such as bronze and charcoal, and finishing methods including powder coating, anodizing, and anodizing blasting are available, allowing customers to choose a handle finish to suit their taste. Also included are an 'antibacterial handle option' to guard against infectious diseases such as the recent COVID-19, and a 'corrosion-resistant hardware option' that can be used without concern even in regions with high salinity and humidity. The 'insect screen options' have also been greatly enhanced, offering a range of choices from premium insect screens made of high-grade materials to functional insect screens specialized for fine dust protection, safety, and more.
