Swedish furniture company IKEA Korea has unveiled a range of new products for 2024, earning favorable reviews from consumers. The 2024 new products are proposed through four design concepts — ▲a striking contrast effect ▲a space that shines brighter after sunset ▲my own sweet retreat ▲precious moments shared together — and are composed of products that allow for easy styling.
First, the style ‘a striking contrast effect’ is characterized by contrasting colors and graceful curves, harmoniously blending wavy glass details, glossy-material finishes, and velvet mesh with jewel-like tones. Black metal materials, enhanced with playful elements such as graphic patterns, stripes, and vases inspired by rainbows, can create a sophisticated urban atmosphere. The ‘Moshön glass-door cabinet,’ featuring vertical grooves carved into its glass doors, is characterized by wavy glass and is perfectly suited for storing a variety of items. The ‘Herrökra armchair’ has fabric that is easy to care for wherever it is placed, making it great to use as a corner chair in the living room or to place in an office with many visitors. The ‘Tandmott blanket and cushion cover’ features an organic pattern inspired by wood grain and is made of jacquard-woven cotton, offering a more three-dimensional and distinctive texture. The ‘Hönsnät series organizers’ are made of unbleached paperboard, highlighting their raw, natural charm, and thanks to the material’s characteristically light weight, they can be easily moved wherever needed at any time.
The second style, ‘a space that shines brighter after sunset,’ embodies an urban sensibility through sophisticated curves, flowing lines, and a harmony of blue and black. The ‘Turbo clothes rack’ has a well-ventilated structure, making it useful for setting out seasonal clothing or organizing your wardrobe, and it can be rolled anywhere on its wheels. The ‘Billy bookcase’ has been released as a limited edition in black and blue. The ‘Klippnejlika textiles’ capture the intention of conveying vitality and energy through the coexistence of dynamism and comfort. The third style, ‘my own sweet retreat,’ is characterized by a romantic look, presenting a timeless design in which calm blue hues, warm neutral tones, and white come together in harmony. The ‘Glesstjärna bedding’ adds a touch of luxury with refined details such as an intricate floral pattern and fabric-covered buttons, and the ‘Telegraflinje plain-weave rug,’ whose front and back geometric patterns reverse each other, lets you choose whichever you prefer — mustard yellow or cream — as the front side.

This collection was designed with inspiration from plants and flowers, particularly a Swedish herb called ‘Åkernejlika’ that blooms with small pink flowers. Among them, the ‘Åkernejlika cushion cover,’ presented in blue and brown, features the embroidered initials of the craftsperson who made it, giving each product its own unique charm.
