Hyundai L&C, the comprehensive building-materials company of the Hyundai Department Store Group, has relaunched its residential sheet flooring 'The Chaeum.'
'The Chaeum' is a 2.2 mm-thick flooring featuring a high-elasticity cushion layer, and comes in a lineup of 10 wood patterns and 8 stone patterns. The new product is offered in basic designs in warm-tone hues, which are most sought after by customers. For the wood patterns, a variety of designs are configured around the flagship 128 mm size, while the trend-sensitive stone patterns are based on soft warm-gray tones and greatly expand rectangular designs such as 450x900 mm instead of square ones, enabling interiors that are both stable and sophisticated. Among the stone patterns, the representative product is 'Wave Travertine,' distinguished by its characteristic flowing grain. 'Wave Travertine' is a design that leverages the pronounced directionality of its grain in a rectangular format as a focal point, making it perfect for creating a modern atmosphere. Among the wood patterns, 'Ruby Oak,' which has the characteristics of a firm and well-structured oak grain, received high praise. In addition, compared to before the renewal, 'The Chaeum' features enhanced functionality for young children and pets. It passed slip-resistance tests both in normal conditions and when the surface is wet, is safe from phthalate-based plasticizers, lead, and cadmium, and boasts excellent colorfastness with no dye bleeding even under external influences—qualities recognized with PS (Pet Safety) certification from the Korea Kennel Association. Furthermore, it is effective at reducing inter-floor and daily living noise, cutting a bare-floor noise level of 77 decibels by about 16 decibels, and its excellent cushioning and resilience provide outstanding walking comfort as well.
Beyond this, 'The Chaeum' showed no detection of the four major heavy metals harmful to the human body, and its safety against formaldehyde and other substances that cause sick-house syndrome has been verified, earning the Ministry of Environment's Environmental Labeling Certification. 080-729-8272
