Home lighting company Zibix (CEO Yoon Jae-dong) has unveiled the half-moon-shaped edge light 'Z50 Halfmoon.'

The new 'Z50 Halfmoon' adds a curved design to Zibix's flagship 'Z50' series, with slim edge flat-panel lighting manufacturer Genters (CEO Choi Jae-hoon) taking part in product development. A Zibix official said, "At a time when most edge lights on the market are made with straight-frame designs, machining the frame into a curved shape was not easy," adding, "We developed a special bending fabrication technology to achieve this, and we overcame the durability issue of the LEDs by devising a semicircular form that retains a straight section in the design."

A defining feature of the 'Z50 series' is that, while being an edge light, it delivers the soft, gentle light of a Barrisol-style fixture. It received a rating of 16 or below on the UGR glare index, and a new mold was also developed to produce uniform light inside the curved-design frame. In addition, the Zibix 'Z50 Halfmoon' allows the light color to be changed via a wall switch, and it also features a remote control for adjusting the light color and brightness.

Meanwhile, Zibix is a leading domestic smart lighting company pursuing the smart home, and the name Zibix originated from the phrase 'Jip IS' (Home IS). It was created with the goal of researching the next-generation home and providing consumers with products that make life richer and more comfortable. 1600-9258
