Proptech company Zigbang has launched 'Haven (ZD-R90),' a door lock with no numeric keypad.

The new 'Haven' product does away entirely with the numeric keypad used on digital door locks, allowing the door to be opened simply by holding a smartphone up to the lock. Its 'Mobile Key Tag' technology uses the same asymmetric encryption key method as the FIDO authentication standard employed by global big-tech companies such as Apple and Google. Its advantage is a high level of security, achieved by simultaneously using a private key stored on the user's smartphone and a public key stored on the authentication server. As a secondary authentication method, it adopts facial authentication based on biometric technology. A notable feature is that the AI (artificial intelligence) camera learns the faces of family members on its own, recognizing them accurately even in a variety of environments. It guarantees a wide viewing angle covering heights from 110 cm to 185 cm, and 'Haven's' key features, centered on the Mobile Key Tag, are provided through the dedicated mobile app, Zigbang Smart Home. In addition, it was developed with an intuitive UI (user interface) that anyone of any age can use, ensuring stable operation in any mobile environment. In the app, the entire process of attempting entry through the door lock is relayed to the mobile app. A Zigbang official said, "You can check everything from whether family members have entered to the real-time status of the door lock," adding, "It will be highly useful for dual-income couples who have to leave young children at home when going out, families who regularly use visiting services, or households with student-age children who can go out on their own." The new 'Haven' product will launch simultaneously in Singapore and Hong Kong, with plans to gradually expand sales to regions including China, Taiwan, Australia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The accompanying Zigbang Smart Home app was also developed from the outset to reflect the demands of the global market and its customers.

Ahn Sung-woo, CEO of Zigbang, said, "By actively adopting AI technology, Zigbang Smart Home sets a new standard for smart home solutions and delivers an innovative living experience," adding, "Building on our already proven technological capabilities and service operation know-how, we will grow into a smart home brand that earns even greater recognition in the global market."

Meanwhile, Zigbang plans to continue developing a range of door lock product lines beyond 'Haven,' as well as lobby phones for apartment complexes. 1661-8734
