With enhanced impact and water resistance and price competitiveness compared to plywood laminate flooring, Dongwha Enterprise (CEO Kim Hong-jin) announced the launch of 'NATUS Duo,' a new product with reinforced stability that combines an NAF board with water-resistant plywood.
'NATUS Duo' is a special composite flooring made using a dual core that combines an NAF board with water-resistant plywood. The NAF board is an eco-friendly, SE0-grade material made entirely from domestically grown pine. The water-resistant plywood used in the production of 'NATUS Duo' is likewise a material that emits almost no hazardous substances.
The newly launched 'NATUS Duo' is a product that combines the strengths of the company's fiberboard laminate flooring 'NATUS Jin' with those of plywood laminate flooring. Through the use of a dual core and a high-strength surface protection layer, it dramatically improves impact and water resistance compared to conventional plywood laminate flooring, preventing dents and scratches as well as deformation and staining caused by everyday water exposure. With price competitiveness over plywood laminate flooring as well, it is expected to establish itself quickly in the market.
According to the results of an experiment comparing the impact resistance of 'NATUS Duo' and plywood laminate flooring, when a 1 kg weight was dropped from a height of 15 cm, the dent depth of NATUS Duo was 0.07 mm compared to 0.38 mm for plywood laminate flooring, confirming impact resistance up to five times greater. In addition, in a water-resistance experiment that built a dam on the floor surface, poured water, and measured the degree of swelling at the seams after one hour, NATUS Duo swelled 0.01 mm compared to 0.11 mm for plywood laminate flooring, making its water resistance up to ten times superior as well.
The new 'NATUS Duo' greatly expands the range of choices by offering three lineups according to pattern and specification: △NATUS Duo, launched in 14 patterns; △NATUS Duo Herringbone, which enables distinctive interior design; and △NATUS Duo Lungo, whose wide width and long length create an expansive sense of space.
