In line with apartment construction trends, KCC Glass has launched 'C-Lux,' a coating glass developed exclusively for the curtain-wall look—an exterior-wall finish applied to apartment façades that makes them appear as though they are clad entirely in glass.

Recently, the curtain-wall look, which dresses exterior walls in glass rather than paint, has been gaining popularity, particularly among premium apartments in Korea. The curtain-wall-look glass applied to apartments has mostly used plain float glass, but because it is not coated, it has fallen short of a high-end appearance and has had the drawback of interior dust and dirt being clearly visible from the outside. To address these shortcomings of plain float glass and to bring the same elegant, high-end exterior of premium commercial curtain-wall buildings to apartments as well, KCC Glass developed 'C-Lux,' a coating glass dedicated to the curtain-wall look. In particular, KCC Glass applied a metal coating to 'C-Lux' to overcome the drawbacks of plain float glass, and by dramatically improving the durability of the metal coating, it made single-pane installation for the curtain-wall look possible even for a coated-glass product. In addition, the curtain-wall-look coating glass 'C-Lux' is offered in gray, the most popular color in the construction market, so that it can harmonize with the glass in apartment windows. KCC Glass plans to build out its lineup in a variety of colors going forward to broaden the range of choices.

A KCC Glass official said, "Right after its launch, C-Lux drew great interest from many construction companies, including being selected for a premium apartment in Haeundae, Busan," adding, "Beyond high-insulation Low-E glass, we will continue to develop a variety of functional glass with new concepts and lead the trends in Korea's architectural glass market."

Meanwhile, KCC Glass has also unveiled its ultra-high-insulation double Low-E glass 'Cullinan' in silver and gray colors, earning favorable reviews from consumers. With the launch of the 'Silver (MZT128)' and 'Gray (MZT135)' colors, 'Cullinan' now offers all three of the most popular colors in the recent construction market, including the existing 'Light Blue' color. 02-2015-8500
