'Artsound Easy' is a modular product that dramatically shortens the installation process of Artsound, Knauf Gypsum Board's perforated sound-absorbing gypsum board, allowing anyone to install it easily and quickly. It can be widely applied to indoor public spaces with significant sound reverberation, such as restaurants, cafés, bars, and schools.
The product measures 610㎜ wide, 610㎜ long, and 45㎜ thick, and is offered in three color options: white, black, and black & white. A key feature of 'Artsound Easy' is that it blends naturally with existing interiors without any sense of incongruity, while creating a sophisticated atmosphere. In addition, unlike conventional sound-absorbing materials based on wood and fiber materials that are relatively vulnerable to fire, 'Artsound Easy' uses non-combustible Artsound along with an aluminum frame and flame-retardant sound-absorbing material.
Testing after actual installation confirmed that applying 'Artsound Easy' to approximately 30% of the ceiling area reduced reverberation time—an indicator of sound-absorbing performance—by 34% and improved speech intelligibility by 11%. Furthermore, it offers economic advantages thanks to its short installation time, compared with conventional sound-absorbing construction methods that required closing for two to three days to carry out the work.
