Festool Korea will launch its new ‘TS 60 K’ plunge saw this autumn—a product that raises both performance and versatility a notch above its existing plunge saw lineup, already regarded as unrivaled in the power tool market. According to Festool, the powerful output and high rotation speed of the newly released ‘TS 60 K’ plunge saw make it possible to work through wood as smoothly as cutting butter. In particular, the ‘TS 60 K’ features a next-generation brushless EC-TEC motor, delivering even greater durability that makes maintenance easier, while its powerful output of up to 6,800 rpm nearly doubles the speed of the work in progress. In addition, like other existing Festool products, it can be connected to a dust extractor for dust-free cutting.

Furthermore, the ‘TS 60 K’ plunge saw offers a cutting depth of 60 mm, 5 mm deeper than the comparable corded ‘TS 55’ plunge saw model. On top of this, its versatility has been further maximized: it can cut thicker materials in a single pass and can even cut through two stacked rows of one-inch square timber (daruki)—a structural material commonly used at interior construction sites—in a single pass. Angle cutting is possible from -1 to 47 degrees, and it can be combined and used with the FSK cross-cutting guide rail for even more flexible and efficient work. Its light weight of 4.8 kg is another advantage, allowing convenient use across a variety of job sites. In addition, the kickback stop function previously featured on the cordless ‘TSC 55 K’ plunge saw has been added to the ‘TS 60 K’ as well, upgrading its safety features. The built-in kickback stop function prevents cutting injuries: when kickback occurs, the sensor stops the tool in just 1/1000 of a second.

A Festool official expressed confidence in the product, stating, “For decades, we have set the leading standard for the high quality of plunge saws, and the newly released ‘TS 60 K’ will once again set an even higher standard for sawing quality, versatility, and work safety in the market,” adding, “With the quality of the TS 60 K, we will continue to offer workers the best plunge cutting experience.”
