LG Electronics has launched 'LG Whisen Ceiling Fan,' a premium ceiling fan that keeps the home comfortable throughout all four seasons.
Existing products could only be installed in duplex homes, stores, and other spaces with ceilings higher than 2.6m, but this new product (model name: FC480SWSC) can be installed even where the ceiling is as low as 2.3m. LG Electronics took into account the fact that the ceiling height of most apartments in Korea is around 2.3m.
Considering the low ceilings of households, LG Electronics designed the fan to narrow the gap between the ceiling and the ceiling fan while optimally circulating air to suit living spaces. Previously, LG Electronics had introduced the 'Whisen Ceiling Fan' for use in commercial facilities with high ceilings. It has now unveiled this new product to reflect customers' demand for a ceiling fan that can also be used at home.
The 'LG Whisen Ceiling Fan' not only keeps indoor air comfortable all year round but also enhances heating and cooling performance while reducing energy consumption. The German certification body TUV Rheinland certified that when a heater or air conditioner is used together with the 'LG Whisen Ceiling Fan,' the set temperature is reached 25% and 19% faster, respectively, than when the ceiling fan is not used, and that operating a heater or air conditioner for two hours while using the ceiling fan reduces power consumption by 13% and 8%, respectively. In addition, in spring and fall it circulates air up and down for comfort, and in summer, when used together with an air conditioner, the breeze feels cool and natural. For winter heating, it circulates warm air downward to keep the room warm. LG Electronics applied its own differentiated technologies to the ceiling fan: the Dual Wing and a humpback whale-inspired tubercle design. The Dual Wing boosts the airflow at the center of the blades to aid air circulation, while the tubercle design reduces the noise generated as the ceiling fan blades rotate. The product's minimum noise level is about 25 decibels, similar to a whisper. In addition, the 'LG Whisen Ceiling Fan' is equipped with an inverter motor for high durability. In-house testing conducted after setting the wind speed to the maximum level 4 showed that it can be used continuously for up to 77,000 hours. Ease of use is another advantage. Equipped with a wireless internet function, the fan can be controlled remotely using the LG ThinQ app on a smartphone or tablet, and it also works with AI platforms such as Google Assistant.
LG Electronics also plans to provide differentiated services for customers who purchase the new product. When a customer applies for the pre-inspection service, an installation expert considers the home's structure and environment to propose the optimal installation method and install the product, and after-sales service (A/S) is available at LG Electronics service centers nationwide.
