Philips Lighting Korea announced that it has launched 'hue Sync,' the first-ever PC software dedicated to hue that responds to video, music, games and more to create the ultimate home entertainment lighting environment.
The new 'hue Sync' is expected to have a fresh impact on the home entertainment industry by adding new value to the various entertainment activities enjoyed at home. In addition, hue—which until now could only be controlled through mobile apps and separate accessory devices such as remote controls—can now also be controlled from a PC via 'hue Sync,' earning praise for its upgraded practicality and convenience. Based on the 'hue Smart Color Algorithm' developed by Philips, 'hue Sync' is a program that creates lighting effects in sync with video or music played on a PC. It consists of a total of four modes, enabling detailed lighting production tailored to each type of entertainment. It can recreate the vermilion sunlight of a sunrise scene in a movie within a designated space, or vividly render an explosion scene from a game through lighting, delivering an immersive sense of actually being inside the game. In particular, users can vary effects such as brightness, color and transition speed, so even with the same content they can enjoy different lighting effects. Compatible with Windows 10 and Apple Mac OS (Sierra or later), the 'hue Sync' app can be used not only on desktops and laptops but also with a TV connected to a PC, making it especially useful for creating a home-theater-like experience when watching movies or dramas.
Meanwhile, hue's official mobile app was recently renewed to version 3.0 with a redesign and several added features. A simpler UI improves user convenience, and 30 new scenes and short frame effects, hand-picked by Philips' professional lighting designers, have been added to enable richer lighting production.
