Global lighting company Signify Korea (formerly Philips Lighting Korea) has launched the 'Philips UVC Sterilizer & Disinfector,' which enables safe sterilization of products.
UVC is ultraviolet light (200–280㎜) with a wavelength shorter than visible light and longer than X-rays, and it is a light source used for disinfection and sterilization purposes. For more than 35 years, Philips has specialized in researching the field of sterilization—producing not only UVC sterilizing lamps but also finished sterilization devices ranging from hospital-grade sterilizers to home-use products—and thanks to this long experience it boasts powerful sterilizing performance and safety.
The 'Philips UVC Sterilizer & Disinfector' offers outstanding sterilizing performance, inactivating 99.99% of harmful microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, and mold. While UVC has strong sterilizing power, because it is ultraviolet light with a longer wavelength, direct exposure can be harmful to human skin and eyes. With safety in mind, the 'Philips UVC Sterilizer & Disinfector' is therefore equipped with a 'Smart Safety Sensor' that prevents UVC from being emitted when the lid is opened, allowing it to be used with peace of mind even in households with children.
The 'Philips UVC Sterilizer & Disinfector' can easily sterilize masks, wallets, and tableware, as well as baby items such as bottles and toys, and it can also sterilize electronic devices such as mobile phones and earphones. In addition, its one-touch operation and flip-up door design make it easy and effortless to store items, and it uses highly reflective super-mirror stainless steel material for effective sterilization. Together with this, a PTC heater that improves thermal efficiency with low power consumption maintains a sterile environment, and along with three functions—sterilization, drying, and storage—the sterilization time can be adjusted to 10, 15, or 20 minutes depending on the amount of items inside.
