Hanssem Co., Ltd. (CEO Kang Seung-soo), a comprehensive home interior specialist, has launched 'SCANDI & NORDIC,' a new product in its premium kitchen brand KITCHENBACH that offers a modern interpretation of the 'Mid-Century Modern' interior style.

'Mid-Century Modern' is an interior style that was popular in the United States from the 1940s to the 1960s, characterized by simple and practical design. It harmonizes Nordic-style wood materials with industrial materials such as steel and acrylic, and primary-colored furniture and accessories can be used as accent points. As interest in 'Retro' styles has grown across the retail industry in recent years, the 'Mid-Century Modern' interior style has also been drawing attention. In response, Hanssem has launched a new kitchen product for families in their 30s and 40s who take a keen interest in home interiors.

KITCHENBACH 'SCANDI & NORDIC' allows customers to configure their kitchen by combining 'SCANDI' doors and 'NORDIC' doors. First, the 'SCANDI' door is available in four achromatic colors: △Scandi Cloud △Scandi Mushroom △Scandi Stone △Scandi Sage. The door surface is finished with HAF (Hanssem Anti-fingerprint), a material developed in-house by Hanssem. Its anti-fingerprint function helps prevent smudges, and it features a smooth surface texture. HAF is a new material that adds an anti-fingerprint coating to conventional PET (polyethylene terephthalate), a material used for kitchen furniture surface finishes, making it more resistant to contamination and discoloration.

The 'NORDIC' door is available in wood-tone colors: △Nordic Walnut △Nordic Oak. By applying finishing materials from Schattdecor, a leading global furniture surface material company based in Germany, it realistically reproduces the soft texture unique to wood. It also uses HPM (High Pressure Melamine), which is mainly used in high-end kitchens, making it resistant to heat and scratches. The kitchen countertop is a slim 20 mm thick, creating a sophisticated, café-like space. In addition, the countertop of the island kitchen can be cut and installed in a rounded shape, and the trendy 'Tambour Board' can be applied to the lower cabinets of the kitchen as an accent point. A Tambour Board is made by processing MDF, a furniture material, into various shapes such as right angles, triangles, and semicircles, and joining them together into a single panel. Its three-dimensional patterns make it useful as an interior accent.

'SCANDI & NORDIC' offers a modern interpretation of the 'Mid-Century Modern' style. It reflects the trend of homes transforming into 'Layered Homes,' which go beyond the basic function of a residence to add new functions such as work and leisure. Customers can choose from various kitchen plans, such as 'Home Café' and 'Home Office,' to suit their lifestyle.

When configured as a home café kitchen, the 'Home Café Cabinet' makes it convenient to use various small appliances such as coffee machines, toasters, and air fryers. In addition, specialized cabinets such as the 'Lift-Up Tall Cabinet' and the 'Rice Cooker Cabinet' allow appliances to be stored neatly. Dishes, ornaments, and other items can be displayed on open cupboards or shelves. When configured as a home office-style kitchen, it can be arranged not only for cooking and dining but also as a space for working from home. The dining table, made of melamine, is resistant to contamination and scratches, so it can be used for various purposes beyond dining. Installing a separate low cabinet on one side of the kitchen provides a place to organize items needed for work.

'SCANDI & NORDIC' has been launched as KITCHENBACH's first 'Entry' model for customers in their 30s and 40s. Hanssem offers its premium kitchen furniture brand KITCHENBACH in grades ranging from high-end to mid-range products, including △KB7 △KB5 △KB3. The new 'SCANDI & NORDIC' falls under the 'KB1' grade. While existing KITCHENBACH products were launched for kitchen spaces of 40 to 60 pyeong, the new 'SCANDI & NORDIC' is designed to suit kitchens of 30 to 40 pyeong. In addition, unlike the 'KB7' grade kitchen, which could be purchased for around 30 million won for a 30-pyeong home, the 'KB1' grade 'SCANDI & NORDIC' can be purchased for around 10 million won for a 30-pyeong home.

Kim Yoon-hee, Executive Vice President of Hanssem's Design Division, said, "In recent years, people in their 30s and 40s have become increasingly interested in decorating their homes and are leading trends in the interior market," adding, "We have launched the first 'Entry' model of our premium kitchen brand KITCHENBACH to match the preferences of the younger generation, so we hope it will attract a lot of interest."

Meanwhile, Hanssem provides customers who purchase KITCHENBACH with B/S (Before Service) and a 10-year free quality warranty. In particular, unlike A/S (After Service), which addresses problems after they occur, B/S conducts regular inspections in advance to minimize customer inconvenience. Customers can receive visit inspection and repair services once each at 6 months, 1 year, and 3 years after the initial installation.
