In response, Hanwha L&C is unveiling a variety of window and door products, helping ease concerns over the fine dust that has become such a major issue recently. The products block fine dust and even enable energy savings in both summer and winter, raising consumer satisfaction. First, Hanwha L&C's 'Air Solution Package' is offered as 'Munjijam,' a harmful-dust-reducing insect screen that blocks fine dust, and the 'Briwell 300/500/700' series of window-integrated ventilation windows that let you ventilate without opening the window. Installing both the 'Munjijam' and 'Briwell' series together can double the effect.
First, 'Munjijam,' which means 'to put dust to sleep,' is a hybrid 'dust-proof insect screen' that attaches countless nanofibers between the mesh to raise the fine-dust collection rate. Whereas an ordinary insect screen blocks about 30% of fine dust, 'Munjijam' blocks up to 90% of harmful substances from outside. It can be opened and closed horizontally from left to right, just like opening a window, making it convenient for consumers to use. 'Munjijam' can be broadly divided into two types depending on the opening method: 'Roll & Roll' and 'Fix & Roll.' In 'Roll & Roll,' an ordinary insect screen is connected on one side and a dust-proof insect screen on the other, so users pull them out from both sides and join them, adjusting to cover exactly the area they want. 'Fix & Roll' has a structure in which a fixed security insect screen and a dust-proof insect screen are installed in a double layer; the security insect screen is used normally, and on days with poor air quality due to high fine-dust levels, the dust-proof insect screen can be closed once more to block harmful substances from entering the interior as much as possible.
The 'Briwell' ventilation-system series consists of windows with a ventilation kit installed at the top of the window. Equipped with a harmful-substance-reducing filter, it blocks up to 90% of harmful substances in the indoor air and, as a key feature, can ventilate indoor air and keep it clean without opening the window. It is Korea's first window-integrated ventilation window, offering improved views compared to existing ventilation-window products and dramatically enhanced ventilation performance and convenience. 'Briwell 300' is a natural-ventilation window fitted with a 'natural ventilation kit' on the window, designed to naturally draw indoor air out using the pressure difference between indoor and outdoor air. An automatic switch on the window frame lets users open and close the natural ventilation kit by pressing the switch when ventilation is needed. 'Briwell 500' is a mechanical ventilation window fitted with a mechanical ventilation kit that ventilates indoor air. 'Briwell 700' is a further upgraded product incorporating IoT technology; a pollutant sensor mounted on the ventilation kit detects the level of indoor air pollution and, when pollution is severe, automatically activates the ventilation system to ventilate the indoor air. In addition, it detects indoor and outdoor air quality in real time on its own and transmits the status to a smartphone, allowing users to control the ventilation system via their phone. Having won the Grand Prize in the Spatial Environment category of the '2016 Good Design' awards, the product also boasts a refined and clean exterior.
In addition, Hanwha L&C's recently launched 'PL 3-Track Slim Interior Door' has been highly popular lately thanks to its heating and cooling cost savings and interior effect. The 'PL 3-Track Slim Interior Door' is Korea's first PVC product to apply a special surface treatment to the frame surface; it is lighter than the wooden interior doors sold previously and offers superior insulation and sound-blocking performance compared to aluminum interior doors. Reflecting the opinions of consumers who value not only function but also the aesthetic elements of a space, it applies a 40 mm frame—45% slimmer than the wooden type—to make the space appear more spacious. It comes in three colors—gray, black, and white—and, depending on personal taste, buyers can choose from dedicated glass options such as mesh-embedded, mist, bronze, clear, and aqua, allowing a variety of moods to be created.
On top of this, the 'Kitchen-Dedicated Window,' which showcases a smart idea, also draws attention. Kitchens are usually fitted with small sliding windows. In such cases, the opening area is narrow, which feels somewhat stuffy and inconvenient because ventilation is not smooth. Hanwha L&C's 'Kitchen-Dedicated Window' was planned and developed through prior consumer research, addressing the ventilation inconvenience of conventional sliding kitchen windows. Its greatest feature is the use of a full pane of glass to secure natural lighting and an open, unobstructed view; by applying 43 mm triple glazing and enhancing insulation performance, it achieved Energy Consumption Efficiency Grade 1 even as a single window. It can be upgraded to 22 mm Low-E double-pane glass, which offers superior insulation performance compared to ordinary glass.
