LG Uplus has newly launched 'Home Guardian Door Cam,' a front-door CCTV service that can preemptively prevent crimes, theft, and other incidents that occur in front of the front door—a security blind spot.
'Home Guardian Door Cam' is distinguished by its focus on protecting personal information through triple-layered security. It is a front-door CCTV product that detects and notifies users of suspicious movements in front of the door, a child arriving home, package deliveries, and more, while providing everything from real-time video viewing to automatic recording. When motion is detected, 'Home Guardian Door Cam' begins recording automatically within one second and sends a real-time notification to the user's smartphone. Clear video can also be checked at night using infrared (IR) mode, and users can hold two-way conversations with visitors outside or broadcast voice announcements. In particular, LG Uplus has strengthened its security performance to eliminate concerns about personal information theft, the biggest worry for customers using CCTV services. First, 'Home Guardian Door Cam' blocks unauthorized access by others through two-step login (ID and mobile phone authentication), and it is equipped with a feature that allows users to check within the app when a login occurs on an unfamiliar device and to force a logout. Video is stored in encrypted form on LG Uplus's secure cloud, and a dedicated security chip (PUF) that cannot be duplicated fundamentally blocks the risk of hacking. Installing the product is also simple. It can be installed on the front door as an attachable device with no drilling required, making it convenient to use even in jeonse or monthly-rental housing situations. In addition, it was designed with an appearance that harmonizes with its surroundings, achieving the distinction of winning a Red Dot Award—one of the world's three major design awards.
An LG Uplus official stated, "We have built an integrated indoor and outdoor security solution for customers who urgently need security, such as women living alone, dual-income families with young children, and senior households," adding, "Through industry-leading personal information protection features, we will fundamentally block concerns about hacking or privacy invasion and provide a differentiated customer experience."
Meanwhile, the 'Home Guardian Door Cam' service is offered at 12,100 won per month (based on a 3-year contract with a mobile/internet bundle) and includes ▲one door cam ▲20GB of cloud video storage ▲insurance covering packages, fire, and theft. In addition, through the compensation insurance offered in partnership with KB Insurance, customers can receive compensation in the event of fire, package, or theft incidents of up to 50 million won per year (fire), up to 10 million won (theft within the premises), and up to 500,000 won (package theft, limited to twice per year). When subscribing together with the existing 'Home Guardian' indoor home cam, additional discounts and promotional benefits will also be provided. 101
